Goodbye

"I love you, Damon" She whispers, tears starting to fall. "I love you, too Katerina" I say back and we end up kissing. ~ One hand was the back of my neck and the other on my cheek.

If I could stay like this forever, I would. I'd never let her go, I'd keep her in hold for the rest of our eternity. But, the best thing to do is let her go.

"It is time to go now, Katerina" "Let us go inside then?" "Yes, come say goodbye to Stefan" "Yes, I suppose that is what shall be done now" She said.

We walked into the house and her and Stefan said their goodbyes. We let her be with Rebekah for awhile, Katerina had recognized her as soon as she spotted her.

Since it'd be their last night together, we let them be and give them some time. "I'm really gonna miss her" "At least Maya is still here" "Yeah, but we knew Katerina when we were human, Bonnie, it's different"

"I'm sorry you have to say goodbye to her again" "We'll get over it, we did last time, right?" "You barely did" "Yeah, but I didn't really get to say goodbye then" "Yeah, you got a really special one this time" "Stefan, it was Katerina not Maya" "I know"

~A few hours later~
We all four hung out together for a while longer, then we decided it was finally time for her to go. So to make it quick and painless, I snapped her neck. After we all gave her a hug and everything of course.

After that, we put her in the chair and tied her to it with those chains again. Honestly, I'm really surprised that I did that.

When she had fallen to the ground, I closed my eyes and sigh of sadness. Even though I know she has to go at some point, doesn't mean I want her to go now.

Her daughter needs her though, and so does Stefan, even though I hate to admit that. When Maya wakes up, I'm gonna be really relieved, but at the same time, not.

At least we got to have another day with her, and we got to say a proper goodbye this time. So that makes things better and more easy to get over.

But, honestly, I just want the day to be over with. I want all this to be over with, it's been hell!

She's in the chair now and seeing her, makes me wanna break. So, I go outside and sit down on the back steps.

I can still see her running around the yard laughing. Rebekah comes out and sits next to me, I guess I just needed someone to be with me. Because for the first time in forever, I showed some real emotion and actually cried.
