"Let us go outside, and pick some of the beautiful flowers!" ~ She picked up the bottom of her dress and starts running around the yard laughing.

"It seems like just yesterday she was doing that" "Yeah, it really does" "But that laugh will never get old" I chuckle along with him. "No, it definitely won't"

"Boys! Come on, come pick flowers with me!" We laughed and jog to her. "I know what you guys are doing! And it is not going to work!" I look to Stefan. "What do you mean?" "You boys have never been good with distractions. I know what you are doing! You are going to surprise me..." I was still confused, and when I looked at Stefan he was just as confused.

"... my birthday?" She said, with a smile on her face, tilting her head.

"Absolutely! We can not tell you exactly what are plans are, though" I wink. "I can not wait as well, Salvatore"

"Stefan, Damon?" Bonnie yelled. "Is that... Emily?" She asks, getting up. I looked at Stefan, panicked as she looks at us. "No, it is another person helping us with your party!" She furrows her eyebrows. "Promise you will stay right here?" "Ok" "Pick some of the beautiful flowers" "I will!" She says with a smile, excited.

Stefan and I jog to Bonnie and she said the witch she had been talking to said she was had to do something painful to Maya. This obviously wasn't working.

I was against the idea of it for awhile, until I saw how happy she was. Then I realized she needs to be happy herself and happy with her daughter. No matter how badly it's gonna hurt to say goodbye and how painful it's gonna be for her.

"Do it" "What?" "Stefan, she needs to be happy with her daughter, and if you guys can't figure this out, she'll have to figure out a way to control it somehow. Her daughter needs her mother, Stefan!" "Ok, fine"

We went to say goodbye to Katerina yet again. "You are going to work someone else" "Really? Where at?" She asked, excited. "Somewhere far away from here" "Wait, this is goodbye, correct?" "Yeah, yeah it is" "You can not come with?" "No, not today, Katerina" "I will miss you both dearly"

"We will miss you too" "Come have one last drink with us?" "Absolutely" She said with a smile, her bottom lip trembling.

"Do not cry, Katerina, we will always be with you" "I will always be with you as well, Damon and Stefan Salvatore" She said giving us both a kiss on the cheek.

"Damon, Stefan, you both are the best of friends... I will see you both as soon as I can get back" I look at Stefan and we both have tears in our eyes.

Katerina put her hand on my cheek and said, "I will be back before you know it" "No Katerina, darling, you won't" She furrows her eyebrows and tilts her head, confused.

"You will not be coming back" "You are shipping me away?" "I do not want to, Katerina, believe me, if I could keep you here I would" She starts to breathe heavily, and I could tell she was about to break down.

"Do not cry, Katerina" "I do not want to lose again, Damon" I could tell Stefan had left to give us some time alone. "I will be with you, Katerina" "No! You will be here!" "Katerina, you will be alright" "I will not be alright, Damon!" I sigh.

"I love you, Damon" She whispers, tears starting to fall. "I love you, too Katerina" I say back and we end up kissing.
