Chapter Four:
~Vic's P.O.V. ~
I walked back to my desk with a sigh. I really hated the 'wounded-puppy dog' look he gave me when I told him I didn't care.
I sat down next to Jaime who was balancing a pencil on his nose.
"Vic look! No hands!" Jaime laughed.
I rolled my eyes and flicked the pencil from his nose, causing him to gasp and look over at me sadly.
"Why would you do that, Vic? I was almost at thirty seconds!" he whined.
I chuckled and nudged him, earning a playful grin from him. He's such a dork, but he's my best friend and I love him anyways. Jaime nudged me and pointed across the room at Kellin.
"Is that your partner?" he asked.
I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose.
"Yeah, unfortunately."
Jaime frowned.
"He doesn't seem that bad. Why don't you like him?"
"Because he's a loser Jaime! I mean, he never talks, he has no friends, and all he does is write in the stupid journal." I groaned.
Jaime scoffed.
"Maybe you just have a crush on him." He smirked.
"Yeah, I bet it was real easy to tell by how I poured milk on his head at lunch." I laughed.
"I meant to talk to you about that. Dude, that was so not called for. He didn't even do anything to you." Jaime said.
I felt a little guilty, but I shook the feeling away and ignored it. I shouldn't let Jaime get to me. What I did to Kellin wasn't that bad, it's not like he cried over it. Or maybe he did, but that would make him a major pussy.
"I think...that you like him." Jaime said.
"Not this again...Hime, he isn't even my type!" I protested with a heavy sigh.
"You don't have a type, asshole. I've known you since you could talk, trust me when I say that the only type you have is someone with a dick."
I rolled my eyes and sat back in my chair, staring over at Kellin as he looked out of the window. Jaime can't be right. I don't feel anything for this kid...except for the fact that I kinda wanna trip him.
I looked back over at Jaime who was staring at Kellin with a concentrated look. Then suddenly, it was replaced by a devious smile. Oh shit, I know that look. He has an idea.
"Oh God, what has your brain come up with this time?"
Jaime turned to me and got close, obviously so no one else would hear. Although I don't know why, we're pretty secluded back here.
"Look, all I'm saying is that it's possible that you like the dude okay? So I have an idea. How about for the next month or so, you try to win him over and see if you fall for each other. If not, then you were right."
I thought for a moment.
"What's in it for me?" I asked.
Jaime sighed dramatically.
"If you end up not liking him, then I'll do your homework for the rest of the year. But! If I'm right, then you have to do mine."
I nodded, a devious grin making its way onto my face as we shook hands.
"Deal."
