Chapter Nineteen:

It was the day of me and Vic's 'date' and I was extremely nervous. I had been practicing the song all week, making sure I sounded perfect and wouldn't embarrass myself.

Not to mention that I was nervous because I would be finally telling Vic that I love him.

I mean, who wouldn't be nervous about that? There were so many questions and so many doubts running through my mind. What if this whole thing was just a prank? What if he's just gonna break my heart for fun? What if...he doesn't love me back?

That was the question that stood out and shouted above all the rest. If I found out that Vic didn't love me...I don't even know. I think I'd probably just crawl into a hole and die alone.

Right now I was currently getting ready for our date. Which basically meant I was fixing my hair and freaking out over what to wear. I finally decided on a black pair of skinny jeans and a white button-up with my favorite black toms. I was praying that it wasn't too dressy, but I thought I looked really nice anyways.

I grabbed dad's guitar, and started practicing once again. By the time I had finished, it was nearly time for me to meet Vic at where we were having out date. Usually, he would just pick me up, but if he picked me up he'd be wondering why I was bringing a guitar with me and that would be hard to explain without giving anything away.

I set the guitar in its case and made sure I looked perfect before walking out of my room and out of the house. I was thankful that mom didn't notice me, I really wouldn't want her asking questions.

I walked down the street to the park where Vic told me to meet him. I wasn't sure why here, but I didn't question it. As soon as I got close to there, I could see Vic sitting on the park bench tapping his foot nervously. He looked up suddenly, his eyes catching mine, and he smiled as he made his way over to me. He eyed the guitar case with a curious a look and I blushed.

"S-So is there where we're having out date?" I asked timidly.

"Well...sort of. Follow me." He said with a smile, taking my hand.

We ducked under a few trees and found ourselves in a clearing. And to say the least...I was breathless.

The entire clearing was lit up with tiny tea candles, giving the area a romantic glow. There were blankets and pillows spread out on the ground and a cooler sitting in the middle. I turned to Vic with tears in my eyes and laughed, throwing my arms around him.

"Did you do all this?" I asked in shock.

"Well...I had a little help." He said, winking.

I grinned and he led me over to sit down on the blankets. It was so weird, this place was completely hidden by trees. No one would ever know we were here...

Vic pulled two beers from the cooler and I laughed.

"Wow, very classy." I said jokingly.

"Well, I don't really like wine. So I went simple instead." He said, sticking his tongue out.

I giggled and took the bottle from him, taking a casual sip. I scrunched my nose up at the bitter taste but drank more anyways.

"You look beautiful tonight, Kells." Vic said sincerely.

I blushed and looked away, lightly smiling.

"You look a lot better than I do..." I said.

Vic rolled his eyes and grabbed my chin with his hand, making me look at him.

"Kellin, you look gorgeous. Trust me. But thank you." He said, kissing my cheek.

I continued to blush and he smiled, sipping his drink. He scooted closer to me and put his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him as he laid back. I laid my head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat, completely content.
