You woke up early in the morning. You looked over at a digital clock beside your bed. It read the time '5:33.' You climbed out of bed clumsily in the dark. You found your bathroom and switched on the light inside. Clothes stripped,  dropping to the floor, you noticed there was already shampoo and conditoner waiting for you. You grabbed them and took them inside the large walk in shower. You slipped your soft hands over the water knob. Hot water poured over your body immediantly.

You soaked under the warm water, waking up slowly. Pulling your hands through your hair, letting the shampoo cleanse your scalp, you washed it off and added conditoner next. After a good 5 minutes, you washed it away as well, your light brown hair fell over your neck, it was slick and shiny.

It had been about 20 minutes, your hands switched off the water. Awake now, your feet stepped out of the shower, your fingers found the towel that had been sat on a bathroom shelf. Unfolding it quickly, being shrouded by the cold sensation of stepping out of a shower, you wrapped yourself in the white scrub, drying yourself. You made your way over to the vanity set up. Toothbrushes and a couple tubes of toothpaste were already laid out in front of you. Brushing your teeth now, you watched yourself in the mirror in front of you. You looked over your body frame. You were slim and tall (5'8) with a fast metabalism. You didn't have abs but you were fit. You went on a lot of runs and workouts at the apartment gym. Your face was clear of any acne or blemishes, as you had been trying out a new skincare routine that seemed to be working you noted.

You spit into the sink and washed out your mouth with water. Making your way into your closet, you picked out the outfit you were going to be wearing today. You dressed in a light grey short sleeved shirt and jeans. You left all your other dirty clothes and towel in a rather large hidden hamper in your closet.

You trudged across your room, you no longer needed to turn on the lights as the sun flooded into your room through a wall window. The view was amazing. You stared and stared, watching the city wake up. You found your necklace again and put it on quickly.

After awhile, you got back to the elevator and travelled up to the main floor.

"Morning kid." Tony greeted you as you rubbed your eyes, slowly making your way into the living room.

"Hey Tony."

"I made pancakes, come over here and get some." He held out a plate of stacked pancakes. Your mouth started watering and you ran over to eat.

"Everybody else are getting ready, should be here in a few minutes." Tony nodded.

A kind blonde woman came around from the elevator. "Oh hello Y/N." She smiled at you, "I'm Pepper."

"Nice to meet you Pepper, I'm assuming you and him?" You asked, pointing to Stark. "Yes." She giggled,

"Nat and I are going to be taking you shopping today or tomorrow. We noticed you didn't have a lot of clothing items. Plus you're going to need a few dresses for events." Pepper suggested, as you contently ate your stacks of pancakes.

"Shopping? I don't have much money.."

"Nonsense! We'll be paying for your items. Think of it as a welcome gift Y/N." She laughed, reassuring you.

"That's incredibly nice, though I wouldn't want to spend-" You started, Tony cut you off by slamming a credit card in front of you on the counter. "Yours." He said sternly watching your face. Gulping, you accepted it and thanked the couple.

Nat and Clint arrived to the kitchen first and stole some pancakes from a huge plate stacked with them. Next entered Bruce, trying to explain a science theory to Thor who stood above him. Cap entered after them.

They all sat down grabbing breakfast and refreshments, (mainly coffee). You finished your meal at the same time. Volunteering to do the dishes, you collected the teams empty plates. You took them to a large sink and started scrubbing off the syrup. You preferred cleaning dishes by hand, as the dishwater wasn't to be depended on all the time. At home you always did the dishes, so doing them for the Avengers gave you some pride.

Whilst you scrubbed, you overheard Tony and the others talking about somebody named Loki. You remembered he was the person who had dawned the battle of new york upon society. He was seen as a ruthless criminal amongst the people, killing hundreds during the battle. You had remembered watching the fights taking place through a window in your bedroom. Your father was watching it through the news. Below everything was being destroyed. Your father had feared your apartment building was going to collapse due to the battle. Fortunately for you it didn't. Though the memory of being helplessly scared for your life didn't help you and you shivered casting back to reality.

"Odin ordered him to serve a year with us. As soon as Loki and I arrived back he had somehow vanished!" Thor exclaimed sternly.

"We need to find him before he tries to take over the world again." Nat replied.

"Once we find reindeer games we will secure him so he can't escape again." Tony assured Thor. "We'll find him."

You turned your body towards the team, "Laufey." You remembered out loud. Thor watched you closely, "Laufey?"

"Yes. Laufey is the cat that sits in my cafes window. I forgot about him!" Stepping forward now, frowning at the sudden memory that you had forgotten about the cat.

"I'm sure you'll see him again Y/N" Cap commented on the situation. "But what if I don't! He was my only friend. At least, I think he was." Your frown stayed the same as they peered at you.

"Where did you hear the name Laufey, lady Y/N?" Thor asked curiously. "From Norse Mythology, the study of the nine realms." You answered dryly. Thor lifted an eyebrow, "You know about the nine realms?"

"Well, only from books.." You started, "I do remember learning about Loki and you as gods." Thor nodded as he came closer to listen, "Perhaps.. if you help me find my cat then I could help you find Loki, seeming as we both don't know where they are." You offered the team. Everybody froze. "Those are completely different things Y/N" Cap broke the silence.

"Not really. If you think about it. Laufey really is like Loki from what I remember. He has pitch black fur and piercing emerald eyes. And from the pictures of Loki in the books, he has long black hair and green eyes does he not? Laufey is Loki, just in cat form."

Everybody fell silent again. It made you uncomfortable, living in the city you always heard the sirens and bustling people outside. And now, silence, nothing sounded.

"Reindeer games can shapeshift and cast illusions." Tony murmered amongst the quietness. "So what if Laufey is Loki? Maybe he's hiding as a cat." Tony suggested smartly, looking up at you.

How did you not think about that? "So we're looking for the same person?" Steve added quickly. "Maybe." Nat agreed from the couch.

"But why would my brother hide as a cat?" Thor demanded, his voice booming over everybody elses. "There are a lot of strays in the city Thor, it's not uncommon for cats to wander around. He would be able to hide amongst the actual cats easily." Clint answered, joining in on the conversation. "But why would he be in front of Y/N's cafe?" Bruce asked quietly from behind Clint. "Curious perhaps?"

You stood there in shock. Was Laufey really Loki? A lightbulb went off in your head. "What if I go back to the shop and find Laufey, then you will be able to get him and we can see for sure if he is Loki." You offered the plan to the team. "That would work, though we'll have to act as civilians and I don't think Thor- with his size and all would be able to pull that off." Nat grinned and pointed to Thor. "That could work, actually, Thor could stay at the tower while we get the cat, we'll just bring it back here and see if the cat becomes human." Tony shrugged, amused with your plan. "I'm all for it!" Clint smiled at you, and soon enough you were leaving for Esta.

You couldn't travel in a SHIELD suv, as Laufey would get suspicious if he really was Loki. Instead you borrowed a bike from Tony and left to the cafe first. Tony and the others, minus Thor were dressing up and would come in later and watch if the cat appeared.

The plan was in motion as you travelled down the busy streets of Manhatten.
