"I have made you some surprises" Beetee says as he leads me, Katniss and Gale into a large room which has loads of weapons laying around " If you're gonna be part of Victoria's propo team you may as well look the part" Beetee says to Gale who is looking at a crossbow and shoots at a target at the end of the room " And this one is for you" Beetee says and i turn to see a beautiful bow
"Plutarch wanted you to have a weapon for the sake of the promos but i couldn't just make you a fashion accessory" Beetee says as he hands me the bow
"Its beautiful" I tell him
"And look here. Regular, incendiary and explosive arrows" Beetee says pointing to the types of arrows that are all color-coded and i pick up a red one as he gives Katniss a weapon , i load the arrow and aim it a the target in front
"Lets not try a red one in here" Beetee says before i can shoot it
I am now back in my Mockingjay outfit with my new bow and arrows and me and Colonel , are making our way to the aircraft that will take us to district . As we step out of the elevator, there are loads of bombs all stacked up in all sizes and colours around the room.
"You had all this and you just left the districts to fend for themselves? " I ask him
"It's not that simple, Victoria. We barely survived. We weren't in any kind of shape to launch a counterattack . Ye we could have bombed the Capitol but they would've retaliated with at least twice the firepower. Then what? There would have been nobody left to claim victory" Colonel says as we walk up to the aircraft
"Sounds exactly like what Peeta said and then you called him a traitor" I say to him
"This way solider" Colonel says pointing ahead to where Effie and Gale are standing and we walk over to them
"Doesn't your comrade look handsome?" Effie asks me and i nod
"Lets go" Colonel says and he guides me into the aircraft and i see Plutarch waiting with some other people
"quick introductions, Victoria. These people have come a long way to support the cause. This is Cressida , in my opinion one of the best up and coming directors in the Capitol.
"Until i up and left, hey" She says to me
"Hey" I politely say
"Lets see what you can do, be careful" Plutarch says before he leaves the aircraft
"This is my assistant, Messalla" Cressida says
"It's an honour to meet you" He says to me
"And your camera man over there Castor" Cressida says
"Hello" He says to me
"And Pollux" She says and he nods at me and i smile in return
"Let's get locked in" Colonel says and i sit between Gale and Pollux as the door closes
"You're all from the Capitol? Plutarch got you out?" I ask Pollux
"Don't expect much chitchat from him, he's an Avox. Capitol cut his tongue out years ago. And, no it wasn't any sort of rescue, if that's what you mean, we all fled on our own. For this. For you" Cressida says as we take off
"This has gotta be fast. In and out" Colonel says and we run out of the aircraft and we follow Colonel over to a women
"You're alive then. We weren't sure" The lady says to me
"Victoria, Commander Paylor, District 8. Victoria has been recovering but insisted on coming out and seeing some of the wounded" Colonel says to the lady
"Well we have plenty of those" Paylor says as she leads us into a slightly destroyed building and there are loads of bodies laying on the floor "We have a mass grave a few blocks west but i cant spare the manpower to move them yet. Hospitals past that curtain, the Capitol has done everything to break us" Paylor continues as we reach the curtain
"aren't you worried about having all your wounded in one place" Gale asks
"I think its better than leaving them to die, its right through here" Paylor says to us and she pulls the curtain back to reveal loads of wounded people and we walk in and i walk through the people with Katniss looking at them all. There all trying to help their loved ones by giving them medicine and comforting them in any way possible even though the chances of their survival is minimal. As i walk around them, they all stop talking and look at me and i stop walking.
"Victoria Black and Katniss Everdeen?" A girl says and we turn to look at her " What are you doing here" The girl asks us
"We came to see you" I say to her
"What about the babies" A women asks us
"I lost mine" Katniss lies as she never was pregnant
"Are you here to fight Victoria, Katniss? Are you here to fight with us" A boy asks
"We are. We will" I say to him and he puts his three fingers in the air and so does everyone else in the room
"Haymitch is gonna be proud of you when he sees the footage. Will this be played in the Districts" Gale asks as we walk back to the aircraft
"It'll be tattooed on their eyes" Cressida says to us
"There's a problem" Colonel says and we all stop to look at him
"What kind of problem" Gale asks him
"Incoming bombers from the north. We need to find cover now" Colonel says to us
"There's a bunker in there" Paylor says and leads us into a slightly destroyed building as we hear a siren go off. We run through the building following Paylor "Straight ahead and down the stairs" Paylor says as we hear machine guns firing and i run outside to see what is happening
"Vic! Vic! Vic !" Gale shouts after me as he follows me and i peer from behind a wall with Gale standing behind me
"Victoria! Gale! Get away from the wall" Colonel shouts as a hovercraft drops a bomb near us sending me and Gale backwards onto the floor and Katniss runs over to help me up
"You okay" Colonel asks us as we hear rumbling and i look up and see a stone tower about to fall down onto us so me, Katniss and Gale run over to the side away from it and to a broken wall
"There going after something in the south" Katniss says as we see hovercrafts shooting
"That's towards the hospital " Gale says
"There circling back around. Come on!" I shout as we run outside and into a building close by and run up the stairs onto the roof where i see hovercrafts shooting " That's the hospital, there targeting the hospital" I say to them as i grab a red arrow and load it and i aim it at the hovercrafts that are coming towards us and shoot it and they both explode. We run back down the stairs and out of the building and towards everyone else who are standing near the burning hospital
"We need to help them! Get them out" I shout running towards the fire only to have Gale hold me back
"Victoria, can you tell everyone what you are seeing right now?" Cressida asks me and i turn to see her pointing at Pollux who has a camera
"I want the rebels to know that i am alive. That I'm in District 8 where the Capitol just bombed a hospital filled with unarmed men, Women and Children. And there will be no survivors. If you think for one second that the Capitol will ever treat us fairly you are lying to yourselves . Because we know who they are and what they do. This is what they do! And we must fight back. I have a message for President Snow. You can torture us and bomb us and burn our Districts to the ground. But do you see that, fire is catching and if we burn , you burn with us! " I shout to the cameras before falling to the ground and i stare at the fire hopelessly
