I feel eyes on me. Observing me. Boring holes into me with anticipation.
I lay there, just listening. Not ready to open my eyes.
I let my senses wander. I stretch them out beyond my body to see if I can sense something and what I sense seems safe, warm, caring and impatient. I smile. Finally opening my eyes. Not that that action helped at all. What I was looking at was the deepest, thickest colour of black I had ever seen.
I turn my head around only to stare into more blackness. I let my ears take over from my eyes as they're lacking. Badly.
"Hello, Madison." I hear a voice, who ever is talking drags out the words slowly.
I stay quiet. Not sure what to do.
A chuckle is heard. The voice now closer. "You can't ignore me." It sounds like the voice is smiling at me saying that. I can't help but smile too.
This whole situation seem comical. I'm sitting in the dark, hearing things I can't see. It's my turn to chuckle. I've lost it. I've finally lost it.
"On the contray, Madison. You've finally woken up." The voice says to my thoughts, almost purring at me.
I shake my head in slight amusement mixed with confusion. Still smiling though. Like my mind is saying one thing and my body another. My body being the one that yells out that I've finally lost my mind.
I stop shaking my head the moment I see a set of electric green eyes standing out of the darkness.
I freeze. What the fuck are these hunters doing to me now...
"Madison! It's rude to not greet back." The green eyes state, laced with annoyance. Making me focus again.
"Who are you?" I managed to let slip.
"My name is Miakoda. I believe I should be saying happy birthday. I would sing but strangling cats has never made for a good musical."
To those green eyes I must have had a really weird look on my face, while I picture what strangled cats sound like, because she starts laughing.
"That wasn't that funny." I state.
That only made her laugh harder. That alone makes me giggle a bit. I had to admit it started feeling good. There was something about these green eyes that made me feel..... Comfortable.
"Hello, Miakoda."
"We need to chat a bit don't you think? We don't really have much time though, to get to know each other right now but that will come. I'm here to tell you to trust me and rest... For now." Miakoda says and somehow her voice lulls me into a deep sleep.
Andrea's POV
I'm pacing around my cage like a wild animal wanting out. These 10 minutes I've been counting down is taking too long.
Suddenly the sirens start sounding. Wait. These sirens are different. Seconds later, rough scuffing is heard by the big doors. Then a sight I had only dreamed of, ever since I got here, plays out right in front of me.
After the big doors shudder a few times, it stops. Then with a thunderous crack the doors explode into splinters towards our cages. Everyone ducks out the way from the flying debris as much as we can, a few of us, thankful we're not right by the doors.
A scream of absolute terror rips through the mouth of the one man we all hate with every fibre of our being. The fact that he's not running makes my smile widen. He was flying through the air, spraying blood everywhere as he flew across the room. He lands with a wet, soggy thud on the floor and skids the rest of the way coming to a stop in front of my and Cassandra's cages. He is petrified, so much so that I doubt all the bodily liquids he's releasing everywhere is just blood. I laugh.
