Painful days turned into harrowing nights and found their way back into the days filled with disdain.
Hunter, now buried deeper in Vivienne's clutches. The two became disturbingly inseperable. Vivienne trying her best, to not let Hunter out of her sight, not even for a minute and clung to his arms with self-satisfaction.
His outward demeanor plummeted from his usual admirable manner to that of a confused, irratic, aggressiveness. Straining his family bonds and friendships with unanswered questions, as they could see their brother fighting an internal battle which would surface to his features for short periods of time, before vanishing and being replaced by the puppet on Vivienne's string.
Vivienne had wormed her way into the very life of the pack with self-proclaimed authority, which she thought was well planned. She was their Luna, according to her and her alone, and she was not about to put up with any contest.
No meeting was held without the presence of Vivienne, who had now all but filled the position of pack Luna. All that stood in her way was a woman she had yet to meet, who had a mate claim over her man and to bed Hunter to seal the deal.
She would fill her day with ordering everyone around with utter disrespect and her nights with whispering evil thoughts into Hunter's ear while he slept.
The pack members, confused, started losing faith in their once well loved Lycan Alpha. Murmurs and chatter could be heard throughout the pathways, open fields and forests, which would come to an abrupt hault as soon as either the alpha or his new woman would walk by.
The guys, Logan, Michael and Merrick were left to pick up the breaking pieces left behind their friend. They were driven to make things right. Blue Lake was their home and no-one was going to take it away from them.
Brooklyn torn between her brother and her mate, it was too much strain for her. Leading her to make the phone call to Ryder. She was convinced he could help their brother with what ever this sudden mess was.
She had alerted both Tom and Madison of the situation as soon as she saw a gap to go down to the cabin. The withdrawn look which wrapped Madison's face was heart breaking. She didn't say a word. Not only would this affect her. It would affect Rayne as well. The thought of Madison being perpetually tortured, every time she would come to visit Rayne, would take it's toll on the tiny little girl as much as it would Madison.
Logan and Michael, set on making life difficult for not only Vivienne but their best friend too. Undermining both of them at every turn, with every decission they made. The pack members automatically following them, seeing the changes in their Alpha and not trusting him to be in sound enough of mind.
Agatha, Cassandra and Merrick trying to keep hope alive amongst the tight knit family and for the rest of it, just keeping their distance, watching as one drama plays out after the next.
Ryder's POV
Driving into the territory I could feel what my sister was talking about, as to what was going on. The atmosphere was not the same as it was when I left the last time. It now seems heavier, more draining and certainly wasn't what I was hoping for.
I was hoping that when I returned, I would have the privilege of meeting Madison and seeing my brother as well as my niece smiling with pure joy. Running around like hyper active kids with the biggest kid, Michael, chasing them. I guess it was too much to ask for. Either way something must have happened. Something drastic. I had seen my brother's pain when Madison ran from him.
It seemed like everyone has been affected by all of this, judging by the faces that walk out the pack house to greet me. I also notice Hunter is not amongst them.
