The day started fading, letting the sun sink slowly below the tree line. The hues of translucent, blues, whites and yellows giving way to a painter's pallette of deep salmon pinks, purples, greens and moody blues, water colours merging across the sky.
The atmosphere becoming electric with anticipation as the pack readied themselves for the party to start.
The last touches eloquently being layed out before the people coming in to gather for the welcoming of their guests.
Brooklyn's PoV
Dakota, Andrea and I eagerly awaited for Madison to come out of the bathroom with the black dress Dakota had picked out for her from her closet. Surprisingly she had never worn the dress. None of us knowing why though. It was a stunning long, body hugging, laced, black piece which was jaw dropping.
"I don't know. I guess I was just keeping it for the right time. Guess the right time wasn't for me." Chuckled Dakota who was just as stumped as we were.
With our chuckles the click of the bathroom door sounded, alerting us to Madison entering the room.
All three of us were speachless. We stood there making poor Madison uncomfortable with us staring at her with our mouths agape and widened eyes.
"Oh. My. Goddess!" Exclaimed Andrea before anyone else managed to blurt out anything.
She walks over to a now very nervous and clearly self conscious Madison, who is standing in the bathroom doorway with her arms wrapped around herself.
She brings Madison into a hug and releases her. Placing her hands on Madison's shoulders and looking directly at her.
"You. Are. Gorgeous." Is what she says and she pulls her in for another hug. This time Madison allows herself to hug Andrea back.
"Absolutely. Madison. You're gorgeous." I complimented her and walked over to join in on the hugs. Followed closely by Dakota doing the same thing.
"But I'm doing your makeup." I claimed her before the other two could. Wanting to be the first to accentuate and polish a beautiful first time canvas. I grab Madison's hand and pull her over to the dresser on the opposite side of the bedroom.
I sit her down and start working on her makeup. She didn't need much, just a light touch to bring her eyes out. After a few minutes I stand back and admire the art I had just created. Boy, oh boy, was my brother in for a treat. I couldn't help the giggle that escaped me at that thought.
"What's so funny?" Dakota questions, looking at Madison to see if I had made a mess of things.
"I can't wait to see Hunter's face when he sees you Madison." I say to Madison but intended for Dakota.
"Priceless, who's gonna have the oxygen nebulizer ready?" Dakota chuckles.
All of us watching as Madison's face turns all shades of crimson at the mention of Hunter's name. Goddess, she's perfect for him.
I look at this perfect, young woman in front of me. I love her already and she hasn't even said a word to any of us the whole day. She didn't need to. She was so accustomed to being silent that her body language said everything she needed to say. As I looked at her a tear slipped down my cheek which made her jump up to her feet in a panic. Coming to me and whipping the tear from my face. I caught her in a hug.
"Madison. My sister. You're perfect for him." I whispered into her ear. It was loud enough for the other girls to hear and soon we were all tearing up and watching as this silent stranger tried to comfort us and wipe our faces. She had so much heart. So much untapped love to give. She was truly an angel.
