The Blue Lake Pack was a buzz with it's members busying themselves with the increasing number of visitors coming into pack territory.
Other packs from close by, who had a loved member, who was rescued from the compound, coming in to fetch their member and giving thanks to Alpha Hunter and his brother.
For the other rescued supernaturals whose packs were further out and not quite neighboring, both Hunter and Ryder had designated groups comprised of wolves from the pack to escourt those rescued supernaturals back to their packs.
All in all, everyone, whether coming or going in and out the pack's territory, seemed to be in high spirits. Making the territory a hub of smiles and welcoming hugs.
Hunter's POV
"Michael... Have you seen or do you know where Cassandra is?" I mind linked Michael. I needed to speak with her. The sooner the better.
"Yep, she's out on the training field with Merrick. Why?" He responded but I left him with no answer. I was becoming desperate and I was in no mood to explain myself. I had something for her to do. A favor to ask. She was the only one who had the speed and stealth to do it.
"Merrick, are you still with Cassandra?" I inquired.
"Yes, Alpha, she's here with me." They were obviously training as it took him a few minutes to answer.
"Please tell her I need to see her in my office." I cut the mind link off incase he too decided to ask me the why question. I didn't want to answer.
I still needed to get used to the speed of vampires, as no sooner had I cut the mind link, there was a knock on my office door to which Cassandra had now entered before I could say anything.
"You hollered?" She says slinking into the seat opposite my desk.
I sit back in my chair, raising both of my arms and ran my hands through my hair.
She chuckles... "You look quite graceful for crap." She notices the dark rings around my tired eyes and the deepening, frowning scowel I've had for the past few weeks.
"I can't anymore, Cass!" I say completely exasperated. "I can't sleep, I can barely eat. It's been nearly two months!" I spurt out sounding crazed. "I can't think properly. I keep myself locked away in my room." I carry on with my crazed rantings.
She chuckles again, " And here I thought you locked yourself away to hide from a certain overbearing blonde that has it in her head that she'll be your Luna."
I glare at her. What? Who thinks they're going to be my Luna? How dare they they. My anger increases making me tug fist fulls of my hair. Rage now glowing in my eyes as they turn black. Chase fighting to come through with a dire need to rip blonde hair from a scalp.
"Vivienne?" I growl.
" Who else? I have no idea what you've said to that woman but she's walking around like she's been introduced to the pack as your Luna." She states with just as much distaste for her.
"I haven't said anything to that assuming bitch." Chase, coming through more prominently.
"You can deal with her later. Why am I here now, Hunter?" She asks trying to get Chase to back up.
Chase gives the reigns back to me. "We need to find Madison. I can't be without my mate. I should have already marked her and mated with her by now." My head drops from a sudden surge of sadness and it envelopes my entire being... It squeezes everything out of me. "I need my mate." I end up whispering.
Before either one of us has the chance to say anything further, Ryder comes into the office unannounced. He stops, still holding the door open with a hand clutching the knob and looks at the two of us through narrowed eyes and slowly closes the door.
