-UNDERWORLD-
It had passed 13 days and Hades hadn't arrived yet. Kore dedicated those days to learn more about the underworld. She was impatiently waiting for Hades...a few days had never been that long. She went with Cora and another worker of the palace to see the city. As said before, it was a dark place, but it had its charms.
She met a lot of souls in the city that recognized her as their queen a bowed immediately. She wondered how, but they could just sense it. They were all good, since only good souls resided in the underworld, and the bad ones went straight to Tartarus. There were the exceptions, she figured, like the creatures in the forest, but those were a different case. They had been banished to the underworld from the human realm, not killed. If you killed them in the underworld, like Hades did to that Minotaur, they vanish to Tartarus. She even met Cerberus by surprise. Cerberus was Hades dog...or kind of. He was gigantic, black and had three heads. He was usually aggressive, since he usually followed souls that wanted to escape, but he recognized Kore at first sight. She had learned so much in the past "few days" but wanted to talk about it with just one person...She wasn't able to get Hades of her head, not even for a second. She had accepted those thoughts...and these new feelings. As the feelings grew stronger she started to feel different...her name didn't felt right. Her hair was much darker. Not only it had lost its vibrancy, but also its red color...it was dark now. She was sitting in front of the mirror in her room looking at it.
She didn't mind, down there it felt right. She thought about her mother, but it was time to live her life...and this life was bizarre, but she had Hades... She was still looking in the mirror when she heard a knock on the door.
- "Come in." Kore yelled without looking back, she thought it was Cora like all these days.
- "Hi..." Hades said opening the door.
She looked back at him, and although she was so happy, she acted mad.
- "Oh, you're back..." She said while turning back to her mirror.
- "Yes..." Hades said. "I have something to show you. Could you come with me?" He asked politely.
She looked at him again and stood up. He guided the way as she followed. "He didn't even apologized for going away for 13 days." She thought. Kore followed Hades to a part of the palace she hadn't seen or explored in all those days. Suddenly, they entered a room...it was bright. It was a huge room. It had trees, a small river and flowers of all colors. It was a garden. She stood there amazed. It had passed several days since she saw such bright colors. "How can this be possible?" She thought. She went near a flower to touch it, it was real. She moved her fingers as she walked and grew more flowers around it, the soil was fertile. She turned back to Hades.
- "How?" She asked with sparkling eyes.
- "After I finished work, I took the remaining days to travel to the beach. There's a mountain from which the souls come down when they die...before entering the underworld. It's really close to the human world so its soil it's fertile...I picked a few things and brought them home..." Hades said looking around.
They stared at each other. She was touched...He went out of his way to make her feel comfortable.
- "Just wanted to make you feel at home...I know it's not the same... I'm sorry, if you don't like it I can make it disappear." Hades said shyly.
- "It's perfect...thank you..." she said as she walked towards him.
- "...and you don't have to make me feel at home...Hades...I'm home" She looked at him with a soft smile.
He stared at her...Looking at her dead hair, her pale face... feeling sad for that beautiful face he thought about every second for the past few days.
