-HUMAN REALM: THE GARDEN-
Persephone walked down to the garden's limits, where she saw a village. Humans could enter her garden, but anyway, it was so up in the mountain it was barely possible for them to breathe. Besides, they knew that the goddess of spring, the daughter of Demeter, lived there. They rarely went up out of respect... and fear. When the unusual event of a human climbing up there happened, the nymphs blew their breath on humans' faces and made them forget. But there weren't any nymphs anymore...Persephone was still in her trance. She saw the villagers chopping up trees joyfully as they picked the brand-new harvest her mother had given them to celebrate her daughter's return. She grew angrier... When the villagers saw her, they instantly knew who she was, coming down from the mountain with a blinding aura. They all bowed, confused, grateful for witnessing such divinity. It was an honor, but Persephone wasn't amused. Her eyes were still raging, but her face was inscrutable as a red aura haunted her whole body. Before they could wrap their minds around the situation, she killed them all in a single blow of sharp tree branches. Men, women, children, and elders...all were slain. Screams echoed from bodies that no longer existed. At least one hundred and forty people lived in that village. There was blood everywhere and dead bodies all over the harvest. As she walked on top of them, Aphrodite appeared.
- "Kore!" Aphrodite yelled.
Persephone fell on the floor unconscious. Aphrodite grabbed her. She was unnerved, and looking at all the dead bodies, she grew frightened. She took her and flew away to the garden.
-OLYMPUS-
Zeus was sitting on his throne, watching everything. Suddenly Thanatos, the god of death, walks in.
- "Thanatos, to what I owe the pleasure?" Zeus asked, sitting on his throne.
- "Zeus," Thanatos said, bowing. "I've come to report a crime. A goddess named "Persephone" took lives without my consent." He said, looking at Zeus with both his hands behind his back.
- "Oh, yes, she did that with my consent." Zeus said with a sharp glare.
- "I see..." Thanatos said, looking down. "I won't question your decisions, Zeus. On a future occasion, I ask to be informed. I have to keep a log. I have to report beforehand to Hades the souls that will enter his realm." Thanatos said.
- "Yes, yes, my apologies...It won't happen again. Carry on..." Zeus told him as he waved his hand, dismissing him.
Thanatos bowed before Zeus and vanished. He kept the balance of life and death, the one that kept records and decided when it was time to leave the human world. Zeus stayed there, sitting on his throne. He had lied, but who could ever go against him? "It has begun." he thought. He didn't cared much for humans, at least not a few lives, and certainly he didn't cared for nymphs. He had married Persephone with Hades because he knew what she'd become, the darkness she had in her. It was meant to be...it was suitable for a queen of the underworld.
-UNDERWORLD-
Hades was sitting on his throne, with a tough face per usual, when Phylo came in.
- "My lord." Phylo bowed as Hades looked at him badly. "I'm sorry, my lord, I know you said not to disturb you. I need to know if you'll grant the entrance of more or less two hundred souls that have been on the beach at least a hundred and five years already" Phylo said.
- "Let them starve for a hundred and five more." Hades said unamused.
- "But my lord, isn't it enough?" Phylo asked with a worried face.
- "Are you questioning me?" Hades said while his eyes glowed a bright yellow. "It'll be enough, when I say it's enough."
- "Of...of course, my lord, my apologies." Phylo said while bowing and turning to walk away.
Thanatos appeared out of nothing right in front of Hades throne, but Hades didn't flinched. He was used to Thanatos appearing suddenly. They worked hand in hand. Thanatos delivered the souls, Hades guarded them.
- "Hades" Thanatos said bowing as Hades looked at him unamused. "There has been a breach on the balance; I came to inform you that you'll have more souls this month on the beach than we've previously estimated." He said.
- "Because...?" Hades asked uninterested.
- "Apparently a goddess named Persephone went on a killing spree. She killed approximately three hundred souls today. I went to Zeus to inform him neither of us authorized that but he said he did so...yeah, we have to make room on that beach." Thanatos said.
- "Thank you..." Hades said.
Thanatos vanished from the underworld as quick as he arrived. Hades was surprised...When Thanatos mentioned Persephone's name he felt an energy surging through his body, as if that was meant to be her name all along. He knew it was her. Everything somehow felt like it was meant to be that way. He didn't thought she wasn't capable of such thing, on the contrary, he suddenly realized she was capable of many thing. He couldn't understand why, but it all made sense, it was all so clear. It felt like he had loved her all eternity. He understood why he had to rule the underworld. He understood what Zeus saw in her, why she was sent there and why he had to marry her. They were cosmically bound to each other, they were meant to rule together, and be feared...together. An astronomical pull. She was his Queen, and he couldn't wait to have her back home.
