-UNDERWORLD-
The few hours they had left together were spent in bed; embraced in each other's arms. Kore was resting on Hades chest. They were silent; in each other's company, feeling each other's warmth was enough. Hades was stroking her hair...wondering how this could have happened. Centuries and centuries had passed. His brothers both had many lovers, many affairs, many children...and he didn't. He had a few affairs in the past, but those were only meaningless affairs...but this...this felt entirely different. The fondness was entirely new. How could he, a god, hadn't felt all the feelings there were to feel in his long life? He thought. When the time came, Phylo got the chariot ready.
- "Thanks...Phylo, I'll take her myself." Hades said.
Kore and Hades got inside the chariot. The horses ran through the forest until they arrive to a river. Hades could easily vanish with Kore in his arms to the human realm, but he took the mundane way. He wanted to spend as much time as possible with her. On the edge of the river, there was a boat in which they both got in. Hades paddled the boat, standing up while Kore sat at the front of the boat admiring that new world, that didn't felt so new at all. At the end of the river there was a beach full of souls that bowed down as soon as their rulers set foot on the sand. They walked until they arrived into a mountain. Once they climbed it there was a cave on top of it, and inside of it, a path. At the end of the path there was light, a bright light. As they got closer to the light, they could see Demeter. Kore stopped for a moment.
- "I don't want to...Let's turn back" She told Hades distressed, as she grabbed his hand and turned back.
- "Hey hey hey..." He said while grabbing her. "Shh, shh, shh. Come on we talked about this, it's only 182 days more or less, what's that in a goddess life huh?" Hades said with a weak smile on his face.
- "I don't want to." She said with tears in her in her eyes as she looked down. "I love you."
Hades lifted her chin up, looked deeply into her eyes and leaned in to kiss her. He knew that feeling was love, he loved her. She put her arms on each side of his head, kissing him back while he embraced her tightly.
- "Come on now kid...time to go." Hades said pushing her into the light by the waist.
As soon as she got near the entrance Demeter pulled her out of that cave, while she spread her arm trying to reach his. When Kore disappeared from his sight he quickly turned back, with a tough face. He vanished. Once he got into the palace he didn't even looked at Phylo and the others who were waiting for him. He got in and went straight into the garden he prepared for Kore. When he entered he looked around...
He let himself fall on his knees on the grass, feeling helpless. That garden soon would be dead...there was no life to keep it alive. He tried reassuring himself thinking time would pass in a blink...but he knew it wouldn't. Why was his existence a misfortune? He thought. "What was I thinking...it was never going to work...She was a flower at the edge of hell." He said in his mind. He stayed there looking down...withholding the tears that were trying to escape the windows of his troubled soul. He was experiencing sadness...another new feeling.
