EPISODE 15: The eyes don't lieYou can listen to "Chasing cars" by Sleeping at last provided above
-UNDERWORLD-
She had teary eyes. She didn't understood well what Hades was trying to say, but she knew that being a queen of a certain place meant to live there forever...and the underworld was not a good place for a goddess of spring.
- "What do you mean...?" Kore said trying to hold back her tears.
Hades stared at her while letting a sigh out. He was annoyed by the situation as well and it was uncomfortable to talk about it.
- "I'm sorry kid." He said pressing his lips together.
- "But...what do you mean...?" Kore said while her tears fell unintentionally. "I have to live here now...?
- "I'm afraid so." He said.
She stood up from the bench, hyperventilating. Hades tried to maintain his composure. He as well, was distressed. He barely knew her...but he felt her pain...felt sorry... felt responsible. He knew she didn't deserved this life. He himself wanted another life. He thought to himself that it would've be nice to know her under different circumstances.
- "Who...who decided? You decided?" She asked while calmly crying. "You can't-..." She stopped talking to wipe her tears. "You can't do this."
- "I didn't have any other choice." He said.
- "Does my mother know? Does Zeus know? ...You keep saying that...you keep saying there was no other choice, but I don't know what you mean. Explain to me...please..." Kore said in distress and talking really fast.
Hades looked at her from the couch. He sympathized...She reminded him of himself... He stood up.
- "Sit down." He calmly said while putting his hands on her shoulders and moving her down to the bench.
They both sat again.
- "It was your father's command." Hades said.
- "How so?" She asked.
- "Well... He commanded me to take you here and make you my wife." Hades answered.
- "Did you wanted to do this? Why didn't you said no?" Kore said.
- "I said no." He stated.
- "Then how come I am in here?" She said pissed in a sarcastic way.
- "You really are young." He let a subtle smile out. "You don't simply say no to Zeus's commands. There are consequences to it."
- "Ohh I see, you...you selfish. So you took me just so you could avoid the consequences? ...Don't you think that's unfair?" She said angrily.
- "You're feisty..." He said as he looked down and let a laugh out. "I didn't do it for myself. I've lived enough kid...I did it for you...I had no other choice..."
- "How is this for me?" Kore asked.
- "If I didn't took you here...well...you would have been sent to Tartarus...turned into stone by Zeus..." He said staring at her.
She stared at him...figuring him out. He said it was for her sake. He protected her from her own father...but how she knew he wasn't lying? How she would know that story wasn't made up? Well...it didn't felt made up. She believed him, even if she didn't knew him, she believed his eyes...after all, she had heard that the eyes don't lie. His expression was different from the other Olympians...His aura was different.
- "Look kid, if you don't believed me its fine." Hades said as he stood up and walked towards the door.
- "I believe you..." She said quickly.
He turned to face her as he didn't expected that response. They both stared at each other... looking deeply into each other's eyes.
