POV Sofia
Finally, the next day at nine in the morning, sinjo Karim was transferred to the normal patient care section of the building where two police personnel guarded the room because of his status as a prisoner. The doctor said sinjo Karim might wake up from his sleep soon so, I, mr. Wisnu, brother Lodewijk, his mother and father who just came around early this morning waited for the moment when he woke up from his sleep.
I saw that even at times like this he still could not be said to be free from the heinous punishment that befell him, I can see it from his handcuffed left hand which was attached to the iron rod on the left side of the bed frame on which he was lying.
While waiting for him to wake up from his sleep I continued to say two sentences that I kept saying in my mind since yesterday but this time I said it in Arabic, the language chosen by the God that sinjo Karim, mr. Wisnu, brother Lodewijk and sinjo Karim's parents loved.
I don't understand why God chose Arabic as the language He use to convey His message to mankind but mr. Wisnu once said that God determines something to happen because there is goodness and wisdom in it. Maybe I will try to learn Arabic in the near future and try to find out why this language is the language He chose to convey His message to mankind.
Suddenly, when I was about to fall asleep due to the cold wind from the AC, I heard sinjo Karim's mother saying praise to God in Arabic then sobbed while giving a hug to sinjo Karim who was still lying down. Suddenly I immediately stood up and walked to the bed where he was lying, then saw his smiling face which he aimed at us all.
Tears started streaming from the corners of my eyes down to my cheeks then one of the police personnel who were present among us told us that he would come out for a while and tell the nurse or other medical satff that sinjo Karim had woken up from his long sleep then his parents took turns to thank me for the blood donation that I gave for him.
"Thank you, Princess for your kindness, please forgive us if we are a burden to you or cause you trouble." said his father.
"If there is anything we can do to repay the kindness that you have given to us, please let us know right away." said his mother.
I smiled at their statement then gave my answer.
"Sinjo Karim, your son, he is a good man, he made me learn to love God, without your son in my life, I may never have learned how to love God. I feel lucky to meet him and be one of his close friends. You don't need to repay my kindness, it's my job as one of his close friends to help him during difficult times because many people said a friend in need is a friend indeed."
"May God reward your kindness, Princess." his mother said to me.
"Aamiin." I replied to her.
Then I heard the sound of the door open, the police personnel who had come out had returned inside then he approached brother Lodewijk and seemed to be whispering to him then he spoke up and told us about the appeal that has been processed to sinjo Karim's parents.
"Excuse me, sir, ma'am, I'm sorry if I disturbed your conversation with Princess Sofia, but I just want to let you know that the file for the appeal has been processed and based on the procedure, we have to wait for the result of the high court judge's decision in which it'll come out in about 3 months or less than that and there is an uncomfortable matter regarding this that will be explained by the police officer here. Sir?"
Then the police officer opened his mouth and told us about the unpleasant thing that was said by brother Lodewijk.
"While awaiting the results of the high court judge's decision, Karim still has to continue serving his sentence in prison until the decision from the high court judge comes out. That's the procedure that applies in the legal system. So, most likely when Karim's condition is deemed sufficiently recovered, we will take him back into prison. "
