Chapter 10 Part 2 "Comforter"

I was chatting with brother Lodewijk in my room about the offer I received from meneer Erwin Dekker. After a discussion with him and mevrouw Sofia along with meneer Erwin, finally I'm willing to be a partner in solving my cousin's case.

After agreeing with brother Lodewijk's offer, I spoke again with mevrouw. She said she missed Karim very much but did not know to whom she should vent her longing so she talked to me.

We talked about many things ranging from talking about Karim to talking about the knowledge that she had so far about Islam, especially about marriage in Islam which she still had the opposite view regarding polygamy while I tried my best to explain it.

"Why can a man have four wives and may marry other women without the permission of his first wife? Isn't that cheating? Whereas a woman if she wants to get married has to get her parents' blessing."

"Mevrouw, instead of focusing in this verse maybe you should read the continuation of the verse, if the man is afraid of not being able to do justice then it is highly recommended that he marry only one woman. After all in Christianity in the Bible is also written that King Solomon had many wives up to the number that exceed hundreds right?"

"Yes, I know that, but I can't understand why a woman is willing to share her husband with another woman?"

What I know is God says maybe something looks bad to you but actually it is good for you and maybe something looks good to you but is actually bad for you, so even if in the future Karim has a desire to do polygamy like what you've said and feared, mevrouw had the choice to divorce him and no one can stop you to do it. If Karim threatens to hurt mevrouw, mevrouw can file a report to the police, right? Especially since mevrouw is someone from the royal family. I ended my conversation with her and then came out of my room, took ablution water and performed the night prayer in my room, I pray that Karim and all of us that are involved could be saved and mevrouw Sofia would receive guidance to embrace Islam if we managed to save Karim, aamiin.
