POV Lodewijk
Finally, I woke up from the coma that I had been experiencing. While I was sleeping in my coma, I often heard the voices of two people who always talk to me. The two of them came to visit me every day, chatted with me who couldn't answer their questions at all as their last resort to help me recover from my coma quickly.
When I opened my eyes, I saw the two of them smiling broadly and shedding tears from the corners of their eyes. Riri the nurse whom her rights I had defended in the past when the land that belonged to her family was almost illegally seized by one of the big companies in this city and Tantri, a policewoman who has been persistent in keeping her promises even now when I have been transferred to normal patient room, Tantri was still by my side and looked after me every day after finding out that I had no other family members to look after me because they were all gone.
Every time the hospital nurse brought a tray of food to my room, Tantri always fed me because my arms, thighs, calves and legs were still bandaged because of the fractured bones that had not yet healed. I wonder why Tantri took care of me this far, she didn't have to do it if she wanted to but she did it without ever asking any payback for all the things she had done for me until one day, when she was sitting next to my bed watching the news on television, I asked the reason she took care of me this far.
"Tantri I want to ask something can I?"
"Sure, what?" she asked.
"Why are you doing all of this? Staying in this room to take care of me and feed me every time the nurse brings my food? I mean, I know, I'm the only person in my family who is still alive but I don't think you should give me your attention this far." I said to her then a faint smile appeared on the corner of her lips and she gave her answer.
"I promised mevrouw Sofia that I would save you when you were kidnapped and make sure you are okay so I have to keep my promise." she said to me, that answer made me smile a little too which made her ask me about the reason why a faint smile appeared on my lips.
"Why are you smiling? Is there something funny about the answer?" she asked me.
"No, is just that just your answer makes me remember one of the reasons I struggled so far to finish my client's case." I said to her giving my answer then she asked me back.
"What's the reason if I may know?"
"The reason is, I have friends whose names are Ilhan and Chandra, they are lawyers like me but they both died. At their graves, I promised them that I would finish their cases because they died because of me who was reluctant to fight my own twin. I was really reluctant to fight my late twin because I didn't want to make a fuss with him, maybe you could say that I loved my late twin so much until I forgot that at that time he was comfortable working for the wrong side." I replied to her.
"Yes, my late father told me that your late twin worked as a prosecutor, but I just found out that he was really working for the wrong side." she said to me then she asked me
"Why was your late twin willing to work for the enemy side? Do you know the reason?"
"Would you believe that this person next to you has the blood of an officer in the Nazi German army?" I asked her, suddenly her expression changed to a little surprised then she shook her head.
"My late father, he is a German and the late father of my late father was a former officer in Nazi Germany army in the SS unit but I only found out about it after I became a teenager when I visited my late grandfather's house in Germany and found a small book containing his diary during the second world war. The connection with my twin is, Ludwig spent more time with my late father to accompany him while he was working in Germany while I spent more time here accompanying my late mother." I said to her then stopped for a moment to take a breath and then returned to continue my explanation.
