POV Tantri
My car that I was driving reached the apartment building where Lodewijk lived before he finally got the house that he inherited from Ludwig. I drove my car into the parking lot and parked my car in the parking lot according to Lodewijk's directions. After parking the car, I turned off the engine then we all got out of the car and followed Lodewijk's footsteps towards his apartment room from behind.
His footsteps stopped in front of an entrance door to an apartment room on the third floor. He reached into his pocket and unlocked the door to his apartment room and let Ilya and I enter.
When I entered, I felt the dust that had accumulated on the floor beneath my feet, the apartment room where he lived was not as neat as I thought. This is one of my pet peeves that bothers me a little but never mind, I have to understand because Lodewijk is a boy and maybe for a male standard this is quite neat.
"Well sorry if this apartment is a little dusty. Since I live in my current house I rarely come here and clean my apartment room." Lodewijk told us.
"It is okay." I said replying to him.
"It's okay, brother Lodewijk." said Ilya also chimed in.
He stepped back into one corner of the apartment that had a door and then unlocked the door and then invited us to enter it.
"This is the bedroom that I usually use to sleep and work on the files from the cases that I worked on but if you want to use the other bedroom just say so, only the other bedroom might be dustier because I rarely use it." Lodewijk told us.
I could smell faint tobacco aroma in his room. Is Lodewijk a smoker like my late father? Hhhh ... cigarettes and the smell of cigarettes are small things that bother me a little. Never mind Tantri, be patient and try to let it be, there are more important things to think about than the dust that accumulates on the floor or the faint smell of tobacco that lingers in this bedroom. Ignore all of them for the time being.
"Humph." I exhaled trying to relieve the irritation that had penetrated my heart and then opened my mouth, answering the question that Ilya asked to me.
"This bedroom is fine."
"Okay then, while you and Ilya arranging those images, I'll sweep and mop the floor and also will do a little bit of cleaning, if you want any snack or beverage just tell me, I'll buy it." said Lodewijk in response to my words.
"Hmm, thanks." I said answering Lodewijk's words.
"Thank you, brother." said Ilya also chimed in.
I put my laptop on Lodewijk's work desk and when I looked at his desk, I saw that a part of his wooden desk surface was slightly charred. The surface that looked charred must have been the place where he had put his ashtray and the ashes from the cigarettes that he smoked were often scattered on that area.
Damn, even though I tried to get rid of my irritation, the irritation in my heart still didn't go away completely. Is this annoyance because of I was surprised to find out that Lodewijk is a smoker which had never crossed my mind before? Ah, I don't know, I hope it's not because of that. Why do I feel irritated knowing that Lodewijk is a smoker? Many of my friends in the police force also smoke a lot so I shouldn't be annoyed to know that he smokes too. Hopefully this feeling of irritation will be calmed soon.
I plugged my laptop adapter cable into my laptop and into the wall socket then plugged my wireless USB mouse adapter into the adapter hole for the USB adapter on my laptop then turned on the laptop, turned on my smartphone's Wi-Fi hotspot and connected my laptop with my smartphone's Wi-Fi hotspot, opened my e-mail and then downloaded all the images I got from the residents of the apartment building where Riri lived.
