Two lightsabers buzzed on, one green and one blue, illuminating the dark damp cave entrance. To think this small crack in the mountain was the entrance to a hidden knowledge.

The two young padawans crept into the unremarkable entrance unaware of the fate that they had unlocked.

They crawled through the cramped ancient hallway, which has mostly collapsed over the millennia of wear and tear. Shadows of blue and green reflected off the damp stone, occasionally revealing the old structure's intent, an ancient jedi temple.

"You're sure we are at the right place," I asked as I raised my blue lightsaber a little higher to see some of the worn hieroglyphs that was carved into a fallen spire.

"Yea, I'm pretty sure this is the right place," Ahsoka stated as she took out a piece of old paper, unrolled it to reveal a map and some language that I didn't recognize. She then placed her hand with the map on one of the broken stone walls observing the warn cravings.

I watched her examine the broken carvings as thoughts of why we were excavating some old temple and not fighting with our masters on the battlefield.

The map was found in an old pot with descriptions that said great knowledge was hidden away in this old temple. It was considered low priority so our masters sent me and Ahsoka to investigate. At this point in the war even the tiniest of things could help swing the tide to our favor.

"This way," called out Ahsoka, pointing with her lightsaber to a pair of fallen pillars that made a small opening just big enough for us to fit through.

The terrain was uneven and the ground was damp as we walked deeper into the structure. After some time walking through the dilapidated temple, we both decided to take a short break and have some of our rations before pressing on.

Placing our lightsabers near some rocks to hold them up, we opened up our backpacks and took out what's left of our food, some dried slices of bread and a large cantina of water. It wasn't much but it was enough to keep us going for the rest of the day.

We ate in relative silence with the only sound coming from our lightsabers hum and the occasional water dripping from the ceiling to small pools of water that filled between the rocks.

My thoughts began to wonder as I peered into Ahsoka's face. This war has been a toll on us, both physically and mentally. Being just teenagers, was thrusted in a conflict that we really didn't know why. Besides that, we only have our masters to guide us, well-- we also have each other.

Since our first meeting a couple years back the Force seems to push us closer and closer to each other. Now it feels impossible for me and Ahsoka to be apart for long periods of time, because of this we have grown very close to each other. It was because of this that Ahsoka had revealed to me that she had been considering leaving the Jedi Order. It wasn't for anything bad, just she wanted some freedom from the law-heavy order. And because of our connection to each other I would have to leave with her, to live our days together.

A goofy grin slowly grew on my face as my thoughts began to wander about our future, of what could be. This action caused Ahsoka to turn to me puzzled.

"What are you thinking about," she asked, finishing off her last bite of bread.

I blushed, turning away from her. "Nothing," I said, acting cool, trying to avoid a conversation about how I was fantasizing about our future.

She gave a knowing smirk, leaning a bit closer to me.

"Are you sure it's nothing," she pushed the subject, batting her eyes.

I gulped. As of the last month Ahsoka has been a bit, well, flirty. The thought of leaving the order and being with me seems to unlock something inside of Ahsoka, something that she has suppressed for some time.

"It's nothing, um, we better continue or we won't be back till dark," I said quickly as I sprung to my feet looking around the room purposely trying to avoid eye contact.

She huffed mockingly before following my lead. We both grabbed our lightsabers and continued our descent to the decrepit temple.

We stood puzzled at the choice before us. We have been walking for over an hour over fallen pillars and broken floors, empty rooms and wavy paths, but they had one thing in common, only one direction. Before us was a fork in the path, going in opposite directions.

To our right we can feel the twisting suppressing energy of the dark side of the Force. It felt like the air around the entrance was dense and suffocating. To our left we felt the familiar warmth of the light side of the Force. It almost felt like a cooling breeze over a lush meadow, inviting and secure.

As we observed over the two divergent paths, we came to the conclusion that we only had enough time to explore only one of these passages before we ran out of time and had to return with what we had discovered.

Both options had it's pros and cons. On one hand if we chose the familiar light side we might find some that can help us with discovering something powerful to help with the war efforts, but it also could be something unimpressive, something we already know, making our entire exposition pointless. On the other hand, if we chose the dark side we could find some useful information on how to defeat the Sith or just prevent them from getting whatever is in there, but if we were not prepared we could be corrupted by the dark side, jeopardizing ourselves and our allies.

It was a hard decision, something we had argued for several minutes, but in the end we made a decision, a decision that would alter our lives forever. And we decided…
