It has been three years since leaving port on the research vessel the USS Draco. Going on this voyage is a mix of a vacation and solidarity condiment, without the solidarity. I was recruited for my expertise on alien biology, both fauna and flora, on this journey to study the wired planets we come across.

By far the strangest I had encountered was planet 2485GTI.53 or what I like to call it planet Sherbert. It's been two and a half years since we visited that plant. We want to learn what life would be like to grow under a blue star.

The pink plants of this planet absorb the less harsher reddish part of the light spectrum from their host star. As an odd byproduct they produce more high concentrations of sugar then our normal terrain plants. Also it had a weird effect on Caitian psychologically and physiology. Despite their species inability to taste sweet, the fruits of this world have an irresistible effect on them.

My assistant and very good friend, M'ress, eats 20 fruits a day from several different tree species. From my research she tells me that the fruit tastes like the meat from her home world.

Another interesting effect was on her behavior. She had become more affectionate, growing a desire to be touched and held, not so different from a terrain house cat. At first I became alarmed by her shift in her personality but over time I found no ill effects on her cognitive or mental abilities. That is to say there was some major difference to her physiology.

With the combination of the uniqueness of the fruits and my assistant's consumption it had a noticeable effect on her physique. Throughout our voyage she has accumulated quite a bit of adipose. It went unnoticed until 100 days into our research. Again I began to worry, and again we learned it had no ill effect on her. In fact as time went on she began to enjoy the added weight. To put it in her words, I quote, "l feel sooo fluffy and warm", end of quote.

My fellow crewmates have shown concern too over the behavior and physical changes with M'ress despite my continuous attempts to calm their worries. As long as she was physically capable of doing her job and had a clean bill of health she was perfectly fine.

As of this record M'ress now has a biomass of 201.348 kilograms. Her affectionate personality has also grown to be more sensual, or to be more vulgar, a constant desire to procreate. And we are closer than ever.
