Deep inside the forest lies another world, a world of fairies - the magic realm. Their existence is unknown to humans. They are responsible for the abundance of the lands where the plants and crops grow.

Just like the humans' world, fairies have villages but are sorted by their powers. The third kind of village is where fairies who have assisting powers live. The second one is for elemental fairies. And the highest village is for fairies that have offense and defense powers. The ones who rule all the fairies mostly came from the highest village.

The couple, Diana and Fero, are the highest rank in the second village with elemental powers. They are expecting a baby fairy boy. The couple is excited to meet their son for they believe he will be a powerful fairy who will continue the family's legacy.

Night came and the moon is full when the time has come for Diana's egg to hatch. Baby fairies do not come from their mother's womb but in an egg, just like a bird but bigger.

Diana and Fero are waiting until they hear the crack. They expect that light would escape from the egg, every fairy eggs do but theirs did not have. The egg is fully opened and they can finally see their son. Diana takes the fairy baby from the egg.

"He doesn't glow." She looks at her husband in a panic. "Why does not he glow?"

Fero looks at his son and then to his wife, "There is only one explanation. He has no powers."

The couple's excitement has turned into despair. They are the highest rank of the elemental fairies but their son has no powers. It would bring shame to their family. They look at their son's angelic face while sleeping soundly. They name him Eon.

"He is still our son. We have been waiting for him. And besides, maybe when he grows up, he'll show his glow and powers."

Fero smiles at his wife, agreeing to her. "Yes. You are right."

Diana and Fero decided to still cherish their son because he is after all their flesh and blood. They take him outside and introduce him but the other fairies show disgust in their eyes towards the fairy baby without glow.

"What a shame! They should have abandoned it. He is not a fairy when he does not possess any powers."

"You are absolutely right. Such a disgrace."

The couple feels sorry for their son. They decided to not let Eon out of the house. Fero thinks it would be best for their son to be out of sight so that the other fairies will not see their family's misfortune.

Time passes by, Eon grows up being curious and wants to go outside and be with other younger fairies. He wants to play with the others that he sees on his bedroom window. But his mother would always tell him, "You are not allowed outside. They would just mock you nonstop. It is safe for you to stay inside the house. Just play with your toys."

"What is wrong with me? I am just like them." Eon says to himself when her mother left his room. He is confused since the day he starts learning. His parents are homeschooling him, teaching Eon the basics of their world and of being a fairy. They think that their son will eventually glow and have powers.

"It is no use. He will never be like us." Eon hears what his mother said. He can hear them arguing but being a little fairy boy, he could not understand what she meant.

Eon looks himself at the mirror. "I look like my dad but my color." He examines himself, head to toe. He then looks out the window and then in the mirror again. "My parents are bright. The fairies outside are also bright. Except me."

The little fairy boy cannot understand what it means to be no brightness. He does not know he is powerless. With a naive mind, he just thinks that something is wrong with him.
