Chapter 16: Owner of his heart

A woman approaches Magnus and wraps her arms around Magnus' neck. This has shocked Miss Luna and Selena. Magnus looks surprised as well but hugs the woman back.

The lunch ended up being held in a restaurant. The woman was still clinging to his arms while enthusiastically chatting to Magnus, as if wrap in their bubble and not being able to hear the people beside them.

Selena is still stiff to the sudden proclamation of the woman clinging all over Magnus. She wanted to grab her by the hair to lessen the aching pain in her heart. She suddenly pauses and comprehends what she just thought. "Am I hurt?". She talks herself out. She shakes the feeling and thought that she is betrayed, that is it. Nothing more, nothing less. "That is it." She convinced herself.

She fidgets at the thought again of how long has it been going. She asks herself, knowing she would not be able to answer it, "Why he married me when he had a girlfriend?". They both are strangers to each other but Selena thought he was starting to give motives to actually make it work. Or was really just a business wife she thinks she is? Magnus made it clear from day one that her role in the marriage. She felt a pang of pain thinking that. Selena thought, "It is my fault. I was so naive and hopeful.". She tries to shake the feeling but she cannot stop overthinking.

Miss Luna, with a worried face and who has been observing Selena, feel pity for her. Selena is now facing down. Miss Luna holds her hand under the table to try and give her comfort. Selena flinches with the touch and looks at Miss Luna who is assuring her with a nod. Selena smiles at her and holds her to find the strength not to cry.

They look at two people in front of them. The woman is still clinging to Magnus and giggling as well. Magnus, on the other hand, is staring at her with such adoration care, like a caring husband characteristic towards his wife.

A few minutes later, it seems that the couple has finally remembered that they have company. Just right then the woman was not blind anymore and actually saw them in front of the table.

"Oh my, where are my manners?" She giggles, which annoys Selena, as if she had said something funny. Miss Luna and Selena remain silent and aloof. The woman speaks again, "It is just that I miss my honey so much. I can't help but focus on him. I have been gone too much, right honey?". The woman said lovingly.

Selena cringes on her intimacy. She hears Miss Luna clears her throat and asks, "So by means of honey, you mean...?". Miss Luna tries to clarify the situation. She is very upset about two things: Magnus has a girlfriend but married Selena and her grandson is keeping secrets.

The woman looks at Magnus with a painful expression. "Magnus did not tell you? Now I am offended, honey.". She then playfully smack his arms.

Magnus has finally faced both her grandmother and wife. He can tell that they are not happy with the situation. He can see anger from her grandmother's eyes. Magnus starts to talk to introduce the woman beside her. "This is Alvira, Nana, my girlfriend."

"He sounds like a proud boyfriend.", Selena thought. "He must really love her a lot to gently look at her like that.". She has been observing Magnus' expression and gestures and she can tell that the woman is special to him. Selena cannot help but blame her parents for the situation she is in.

Selena then listens to Magnus introducing them to his woman. "Alvira, this is my Nana and she is Selena, a daughter of one of our family friends.". Selena is shocked. Pain is overwhelming in her heart but forced not to show it. She smiles at Alvira, "Nice to meet you.". Miss Luna, however, did not say anything and looks at the couple with a stern look.

"I have heard a lot about you from Magnus, Nana." She excitedly stands up and is about to give her a peck in both cheeks when Miss Luna instantly expresses her detest. Miss Luna awkwardly smiles. "It is Miss Luna for you, dear.".
