Chapter 28: Suppressed feelings (Part II)

Eon and Odette spend hours exploring the forest. Odette, at the same time, spends hours asking questions about everything she sees. Eon just keeps on saying, "I do not know.". He almost answers a few of her questions but it is a good thing he is being careful and mindful.

"I am tired.", Odette exclaims. Eon looks at her and sees her exhaustion, "Let us take a rest and go home.". She looks at him, "What? We can't go home yet. We are not done yet.". Eon's eyebrows meet, "What do you mean? You expect to stay here? We can go back tomorrow.". But Odette is persistent, "I want to stay here.".

"Give me one reason why I should let you do that.".

"Let me? I am not asking for your permission, okay?". Then Odette turns her back on him. Eon sighs. "Odette. That is not why I meant. It is not safe to stay here. Besides, we can go back tomorrow.". It is as if Odette has come to her senses, she looks again at Eon, "Okay. You are right. I am sorry. I do not what has gotten into me.".

"It is okay. I understand.". They both take a rest. A moment of silence has started. Eon is staring at Odette, examining her. "You are so amazed, you do not want to leave, don't you?". Odette looks at him shyly, "Am I too obvious.". Eon pauses for a moment, "Hmmm... Yes.".

Odette sighs, "I snapped because all my life, they are always telling me what to do and not to do. And when I have this freedom to explore beyond the realm, I feel the desire not to leave.". 

"And so you took it out on me because I was telling you what to do.".

Odette looks at Eon with regret, "I am really sorry about that, Eon. I did not mean to do that to you.". Eon approaches her and holds her shoulder, "Hey. It is okay. Not a problem.". Then he smiles at her, "Let's go. We should head back. It is getting dark.". Odette smiles and nods. While heading back, Odette is behind Eon, following. She is looking at his back, imagining the smile he gave her. She puts her right hand on her left chest and feels her heartbeat. She then thought, "You are always like this when he is around.". Eon stops walking and Odette notices it immediately so she stops as well. 

Eon looks at Odette who is looking daze, "Odette? Are you okay?". She looks at him, "Uhh... Yes. What is it?". Eon replies, "We are here. You go first, I do not want to leave you here alone.".

Odette's heart flutters hearing those words, "Alright. Thank you.". She enters the portal and minutes later, Eon follows. As soon as they arrive at the magic realm, Eon sees that Odette is laying on the ground. His eyes widen and immediately goes to her side. He tries waking her up, "Odette! Odette! Wake up.". But she continues to be unconscious. Eon has no choice but to his power and controls the wind to carry Odette smoothly.

Eon is sneaking on his way home. He keeps looking around and Odette is floating, still unconscious. Seeing that no one is around, Eon immediately and carefully enters their house with Odette. Eon's parents, who are in the living room, are shocked to see who he brought. "Mom? Dad? Could you help me?". His parents wake up from being shocked and instantly approach him.

His mother is in a panic, "Oh my! What happened?! And why is she floating? What did you do?". Eon holds his mother on both shoulders, "Mom, calm down. I had no choice. It would be hard for me to get here if I carried her. And I did not do this to her, okay? She was already on the ground when I found her.".

Eon's father is the one checking on Odette. "Son, we have to inform her father or else, we will be in trouble.". He then looks at his wife, "Diana, send Odin a message.". Diana immediately uses her magic. She makes a sound message and puts on a bottle. She chants it with a spell and the bottle then flies out the window. Fero then instructs his son, "Help me lay her on the couch. We can't let Odin see this.".
