Chapter 14: Start of Something New

Selena asks for one more bottle of champagne. Magnus did not stop her because he knows why she is drinking like this. He can only watch Selena drinking while mumbling to herself. She must have forgotten his presence.

An hour later, Selena is already drunk. She wants another bottle but Magnus did not allow it. He holds her hand and tries to make her stand, "Selena, you are drunk already. I will take you to your bed.". But Selena pushes his hand away, "I am not drunk!"

Selena struggles to stand up so she almost falls down to the ground. It is a good thing that Magnus is with her, he catches her when she is about to fall. Magnus looks at Selena to help her stand again but she is already passed out. So he has no choice but to lift and carry Selena in a bridal style and goes straight to their bedroom. Upon arriving upstairs at their bedroom door, he opens it with his right foot. Magnus proceeds to the right side of the bed and slowly lays Selena. He looks at her peaceful face and places his fingers on Selena's cheeks, almost caressing them.

Selena suddenly moves, stretching her both arms, "Hmmm...". Magnus backs away to prevent her from seeing him close to her. Seconds later after ensuring that Selena has fallen asleep completely, Magnus comes closer to the bed to place the blanket properly on Selena's body. He then takes a shower and lays on the couch to sleep.

The next morning, Selena is slowly awakened by the brightness that is piercing through her closed eyes. When she opens them, she barely can see. The curtains were up so the sun rays are entering the bedroom. Minutes later, Selena's eyes have adjusted to the luminosity. She looks at her side table and sees the time. It is 9 in the morning. Her eyes widen and immediately gets dressed. She rushes to the kitchen to get anything for breakfast when she sees Miss Luna and Magnus on the table.

Miss Luna stands up and greets her. "Good morning, dear. How was your sleep? Did you sleep well? Is your head hurts? I heard you drank almost 4 bottles of champagne."

Selena is confused about how to respond to all of it. She is running late. "I am sorry, Nana but could I answer you later? I am late for school.". She then proceeds to the refrigerator to grab the yogurt but is stopped with Magnus' sentence, "It's Saturday.".

Selena does not know how to react. She feels ashamed. She is blaming herself for not looking what day it is and for drinking too much. But Miss Luna is there to comfort her. "Do not worry, dear, it happens. So join us for breakfast. I know you are starving since you woke up late."

"Of course, Nana, but I am just going to get dressed again in not uniform.". Selena smiles awkwardly. Miss Luna smiles, "Go ahead.".

Selena immediately goes back to her bedroom, takes a quick shower, and gets dressed with something comfy. She then goes downstairs again and into the kitchen.

"There you are, dear. Come, sit by my side. I prepared sunny-side-up eggs, blueberry pancake, and French toast for you."

Selena's face brightens up and starts eating, "Thank you so much, Nana." Miss Luna smiles, "You're welcome, dear. By the way, are you not having hangovers?".

Selena stops eating, "Just a little.". Then Magnus speaks, "A little? You passed out last night. I am sure that head of yours is throbbing in pain.".

Selena glares at Magnus, "I said I am fine.". Magnus laughs quietly and continues to tease Selena, "You are so drunk that you almost fell on the ground. It would have been faced first but I caught you on time.".

Miss Luna sees that Selena is starting to be annoyed and her grandson has no plans of stopping anytime soon. So she speaks to her grandson and makes him leave. "Magnus, darling, I think you should go. You are going to be late.".
