Chapter 48: Unresolved self

It is already the weekend. Their flight is scheduled for 10 A.M. Selena is still in the bedroom while Magnus is already at the porch waiting for his wife. Selena has no courage to go back where she came from. She wants to stay with Miss Luna. She wants a different life, different from back home. "Why do I have to be far from the only two who care about me and love me?". Selena's eyes start to tear up. "Well, it is because I am weak and they think I need to heal. I lost my baby. Any mother would be out of themselves.".

Minutes later, a maid calls out outside the bedroom door. "Ma'am Selena, Sir Magnus is waiting for you in the car. He said you both will be late for your flight if you do not come down now.". Selena did not respond and the maid then disappear. She feels angry as something comes across her mind. "It is all his fault. It would not be like this if it was not for his cowardice.". She then storms out of the room and decides to go to the care. Going downstairs, Selena sees that Magnus has no longer in the car. Miss Luna notices her, "There you are, dear. It is time to go.".

Selena immediately approaches Miss Luna and hugs her tightly. "Nana, please. I do not want to go. Please, let me stay.". Miss Luna hugs her back and caresses her hair. She is about to say something to Selena when Magnus grabs Selena. "Come on. We are going to be late.". Selena pulls her hand away from her husband. "Do not touch me! This is all your fault. Why are you taking me away from the only person who loves me? You are so unfair!".

Magnus ignores his wife's resentments. "Do not be a spoiled brat, Selena. We have no time for this. Our flight is at 10 A.M.!". He grabs Selena's hand again and Selena struggles to be free from his grip. "Let me go. I said let me go!". Magnus lets her go and that is when Selena bursts her grudge. "It is all your fault. None of this would happen if it was not for you. If you had just accepted that I am pregnant, we should have been happy. If you had not become such a coward, we are happy right now. If you just have loved me like you said and showed, I did not become a crazy person. Because of you, I lost my baby. Because of you, my world crumbled. Nana is the only person who cares about me and, who understands and loves me. You are the cause of this! And now you are bringing me home? To my parents?!". Selena continues shouting while Miss Luna is already crying. However, Magnus stands still and is about to walk away when Selena speaks. "I am not going with you and you cannot make me.".

Magnus has lost his patience and grabs his wife by the wrist. "You are coming with me whether you like it or not!". He starts pulling Selena away from Miss Luna. Selena is also pulling her hand away from him. Miss Luna goes to the center between and then made Magnus lets go of Selena. She asks his grandson, "Maybe it is best to cancel the flight. You should not force her. It will be trouble if you bring her to the airport against her will.". Magnus looks at Selena who is looking at him with rage. He sighs and goes out of the mansion.

After Magnus left, Selena hugs Miss Luna while saying, "Thank you so much, Nana.". Miss Luna did not respond but she hugs Selena back. "Why did she change her mind? I already explain it to her.", she thought to her. Selena goes back to the bedroom and lays on the bed. She recalls the expression on Miss Luna's face while talking to Magnus and to her. "Is she disappointed that I am staying? I really do not want to go back. I know I can be happy here and besides I am already okay, perfectly fine.", she talks to herself. Selena feels sad, thinking that maybe Miss Luna thinks of her as a burden.

At night when everyone is in their room, Selena sneaks into the kitchen and seeks the wine. When she found them in a closet, she grabs three bottles. She opens it and starts drinking. "Wow. That is strong but delicious.". She comes out of the kitchen and goes to the garden while drinking wine. Selena is going to the gazebo, "There is my favorite spot. Back home, I do not have a spot. There is not a good and lovely place like this back home.". She walks slowly towards the gazebo while drinking. As she arrives, she immediately sits on the swing chair. Selena puts the other two bottles aside and starts swinging.
