Chapter 47: Last day

"Alright, Nana. I will process everything so by the time we arrived there, we would not have to find a hotel.". Miss Luna is amazed, "What do you mean?". Magnus instantly replies, "I hired someone to build a mansion in Selena's rice field which is legally mine. It will be our home and I will build a family with her.".

Miss Luna is smiling while holding her grandson's hands. "Thank you. It would be best for her." Magnus then smiles as well.

Selena, on the other hand, goes to the garden for fresh air. She goes to her favorite spot, the gazebo. She decides to stay there for a while. "I am going to miss this.", she mutters to herself and sighs. She is feeling down and disappointed. Feeling down because her life has turned into a bad turn and feeling disappointed in herself. "I have a chance of fulfilling my dreams but I blew it. I am so weak. Why I am so weak?.". She laughs at herself but starting crying eventually. Selenas sighs deeply while talking to herself, "Why is this happening to me? Do not I deserve to be happy?.". She stares at the corner of the garden. Tears continue to flow down from her eyes and her heart is aching. She wipes her tears and starts swinging.

After an hour, Selena keeps swinging and staring at nothing. Her mind is occupied with the events that happened in her life. "What I did so wrong that I have to suffer?", she thought to herself. Thinking of her unfortunates, she thought of her son. Her eyes start to tear up again. "I do not care anymore what my life had turned to be but why include my son? He does not deserve to die, he deserves to be with me.". Selena hugs herself while crying. It pains her so much thinking about her son. She feels longing whenever she thought beautiful scenarios if her son is with her.

Minutes after, Selena lies down on the swing chair. She looks up to the sky and gazes at the stars. "When I was a kid, Mom would say that the stars are the loved ones who passed away. They did not actually leave because they are there, watching over their family from above". She smiles and extends her arm upwards, reaching for the sky. "Are you in there, son? Are you looking out for mommy?". Selena starts crying again. "Be good in there, okay? Please always remember that Mommy will never forget about you. Mommy will always love you.". Selena puts her hand on her chest while sobbing. The garden is filled with crying. She wipes her eyes and sighs deeply. She smiles and gets up. She sits and swings the swing chair.

A strong wind passes the garden. It made Selena hug herself but eventually enjoys it. She opens her arm widely as if waiting for someone to hug her. She closes her eyes and feels the cool wind as she continues to swing.

The next morning, Selena asks Magnus if she could go to medical school and see Erik. Magnus hesitates but he finally agrees, seeing that his wife is waiting patiently for his answer but would not take no as an answer. "Alright. I will let you do anything you want. Just get your things ready before the weekend.". Selena nods and goes out of the house. Magnus just stares at her until she goes out of the door. Miss Luna approaches her grandson, "I am grateful you start not to be hard on her, Magnus. Besides, she has the right to her freedom even though she is your wife.". Magnus looks at his grandmother but did not give comments about her remarks.

Selena goes to medical school by riding a taxi. During the trip, she looks at the window and recalls the first day she travels. She was amazed by the things she is seeing through the window and promising herself that she would everything to fulfill her dreams. But now, she is traveling to see a friend and bids goodbye. After 30 minutes, she arrives at the school. She directly goes to the mini park. She guessed that Erik would be there and she is right. Erik is sitting on the bench with a book. A guy with a basketball approaches Erik and then leaves quickly. She starts to approach her. "Even though we had only been friends for a short time. I can feel his sincerity and care towards me. He was the first friend I had ever had in my life. He had been part of my life but I cannot keep him. I do not want him to drag into my messy life.", she thought to herself as she is coming closer to Erik.
