They were in his apartment.

And Scarlett was not comfortable. She looked out of the window and took in the darkness.

She felt nostalgic, she felt guilty, and she felt lost. She swallowed the painful lump and tried to blink away her tears. She wondered what her parents might be thinking if they were worried or they had started hating her already.

She was pulled out of her thoughts by a deep voice that gave her goosebumps, "umm would you like to freshen up?"

Scarlett turned to face Lucas and a single traitor tear escaped and traveled down her dry cheek. She brushed it as fast as she could. His eyes were filled with empathy and she looked away from them.

"Uh yes." She stuttered.

"Here's a towel and the washroom is on the end of the corridor."

"Thank you."

She saw Joshua still busy on the gadget and having no care in his surroundings. She wondered for the umpteenth time what he was there for.

After a while she joined the boys on the dining table, dinner had been served. Scarlett had no appetite.

Everyone ate silently.
