Scarlett stood there stupefied.
The three kept exchanging glances.
She was confused about finding Joshua there and a question kept nagging at her; who was this other guy and what was Joshua doing with him?
Joshua pulled Scarlett to the other side of the car and whispered "what the hell are you doing here?"
"I can ask you the same question, don't you think?" Scarlett retorted and crossed her arms over her chest.
Joshua looked at her sternly with his ocean blue eyes. Although he was the crown alpha of her pack yet Scarlett was never intimidated by him. They had grown up together with the best frenemy relationship.
Joshua averted his gaze and declared, "Personal reasons."
"Did alpha send you here?" Scarlett asked hopefully. Joshua just shook his head no.
Scarlett was dumb-struck, she could not form a word. She was too perplexed.
"What about you?" he asked.
"I'm mee..." she was interrupted by a deep voice. Both of them looked in the direction of the owner of the voice.
Scarlett looked at him. He was tall, well built with brown hair and green eyes. His eyes, there was something about them which made her blush and lower her gaze.
Joshua walked between them and introduced, "this is Scarlett Ashford, my friend, and pack member."
Scarlett glances at Joshua, almost irritated, and wondered why he is using the word pack in front of a human.
The guy walked up to Scarlett and extended his hand. "Lucas Black."

Don't know why but I've been feeling very down lately, did not even write a chapter in the past few days. Everything is weighing down on me. Hope that everything gets better soon.
