"Come on! It's Friday! We should go out drinking since you're old enough!" Yeonjun exclaimed, putting a crown on Beomgyu's head.

"Let's do something that all of us can do," Kai said, gesturing towards himself and Taehyun who was putting pads on his elbows.

All the other guys in the locker room stared at them and Beomgyu giggled. "We know we're hot. No need to stare."

Taehyun laughed and after a little bit, the locker room got quiet and they looked at Soobin who walked in.

"Beautiful, the others and I will be in the stands on the side with third base, okay?" He asked, kneeling in front of Taehyun. The boy nodded, giggling when Soobin put his baseball cap on him. "You'll do great out there."

"Thanks Babe," he said, leaning in to peck Soobin's lips before standing up.

The game went well as usual. It encouraged Taehyun to have the four of them in the stands.

He had to show off for his boyfriend after all.

Afterwards, it was nighttime and they all went to a café a little bit down the road.

"Let me just buy you a drink," Yeonjun pestered, groaning when Beomgyu said "no" again.

"Oh jeez. I have to go let my mom in the house. She forgot her key. I'll be back in ten minutes," Taehyun said before leaving.

"You have a really hyperactive boyfriend," Kai said.

"He's not as hyper as you three. He's just in a good mood today. It's his best friend's birthday, and he just won against one of the top teams. And he just found out he got great grades on his exams earlier in the year."

They all widened their eyes and nodded. It was pretty cool to all of them that Taehyun was so successful at things.

"Hm... there's a lot of sirens," Beomgyu said, right before multiple ambulances and fire trucks drove past the building.

"Wow." Yeonjun looked out the window, seeing all the emergency vehicles stopping down the street.

Soobin quickly pulled out his phone after seeing it, clicking on Taehyun's contact and bringing it to his ear.

It kept ringing, over and over again, until finally, it stopped. And then he kept calling and texting.

Taehyun always answered his phone.

"Taehyun's not picking up," Soobin said, trying to call him again.

All of them started texting him too, slightly panicking since they knew he always picked up his phone too.

A few minutes later, one of Soobin's calls was answered.

"Hello? Taehyun, are you okay?" He asked frantically.

"This is a paramedic. Who is this?"

"I'm Soobin. I'm his boyfriend. What happened?"

"There's been an accident. I heard his phone ringing and I answered it to let you know."

"I'm in the café down the street and I can see it from here. Is he okay?"

"He's alive," she said, and Soobin sighed in relief. "His heart is beating, but he's unresponsive. We're gonna try to get him out and into the ambulance, but I'm not gonna sugarcoat it and say that he'll definitely survive. He suffered a lot of head trauma."

Soobin's lips quivered and he nodded, saying "thank you, goodbye" and quickly turning his phone off.

"You didn't realize you had it on speaker," Yeonjun said. "Come on. I'll drive all of us to the hospital."

He grabbed Soobin's hand, the boy in utter shock at the moment. Kai shielded Soobin's eyes from the crash, not wanting to upset him any further, and they drove away. They parked on the side of the road, and it took another fifteen minutes before the ambulances started speeding past them.

Yeonjun started driving, following them far behind as Beomgyu and Kai were crying and Soobin just looked down at his hands.

He couldn't even think of an emotion.

He was far too in shock to think of anything.

They finally made it to the hospital, and Yeonjun asked for Kang Taehyun. They were sat down in a waiting room, hugging Soobin even though they were crying.

In reality they were just trying to get him to cry. The fact that he wasn't crying was more heartbreaking.

After a while, Beomgyu and Kai fell asleep and a nurse walked in.

"Soobin? The paramedic told me your name," she said, walking over. And finally, Soobin looked up, standing up to shake her hand. "Taehyun is alive and most of his vitals are stable."

"Most?" He asked.

"His heart and lungs are okay, but he shows no sign of brain activity, meaning he is currently in a coma. It can last for a short period of time, or it can last for longer. I'm sorry."

"Can I see him?"

He looked down, somehow still not crying even though Yeonjun was on a hysterical phone call with Taehyun's parents down the hall.

"He's currently in surgery for puncture wounds and fractures that needed immediate attention. But when it's over, I'll let you know and you can see him." She sympatheticly smiled before walking away, and Soobin just...

Stood there.

"Taehyun," he whispered, blinking a few times and shaking his head. "He's okay." He smiled, bringing his hand up to touch the heart locket on his chest. "After the surgery, we'll go home. And... I can yell at him for not studying."

He smiled with tears in his eyes and then let out a pained sob, holding his hand against his mouth and falling on his knees. He quickly ran out of the hallway, going to a platform on the staircase and sitting there to cry.

The realization finally hit him.
