"Soobinie Hyung!" Taehyun squealed, grabbing the fourteen year old's hand. "We should go explore the woods after school. What do you think?"
He saw Soobin smile a bit and giggled.
"Yes we can go. But not for too long. I have homework."
"But you always have homework. You never have time to hang out with me," he complained, resting his chin on the cafeteria table as Soobin read his book.
He looked at Soobin with a small pout and the older boy sighed.
"Fine. We can go explore."
Taehyun squealed again and leaned over the table to hug him. "I'm gonna go eat with my team. I'll see you by the front gate at the end of school, okay?"
He ran away and Soobin smiled softly.
Soobin looked at the big gate in front of the university and took a deep breath.
Just one more year.
"I already can't wait to go back to the motel," Yeonjun said, also walking up to the gate. "Woah."
The tornado happened a couple weeks ago, and since everybody was nearly done rebuilding, they were able to take the trip to Busan.
"This place looks even cooler in person, right?" Kai asked, placing an arm around Beomgyu's shoulders.
"Y-yeah," he replied shyly.
They all walked through the gate, except for Soobin, who looked back at his car.
"I'll go back to the motel. You guys go inside."
"Soobin," Yeonjun sighed. "Come on. Just take the tour with us. What if you change your mind and decide to go this year?"
"That's not gonna happen. It's not that big of a deal. I'm just tired and I don't wanna walk around an entire campus right now."
They nodded and continued walking, and Soobin turned around, sighing when he saw Taehyun sitting on the hood of his car.
"Beautiful Challenger. Make sure not to crash her like I crashed mine," the vision taunted.
"Why the hell are you so mean? And what are you doing here?"
"You know I'm not actually mean. But your mind is making me seem that way for some reason." He sat criss-cross and Soobin glared at him.
"I'm not making you seem like anything."
"Yes you are. You're seeing me as a mean person, and I think I know the reason. It's because it hurts less to see me being mean, than it does to see me dying."
"You're not dying. You're stable."
"But what happens if I don't wake up? What happens if you give up on me?"
"I'm not giving up on him." He shook his head. "Leave me alone."
He got in his car and the vision finally disappeared. Taking a deep breath, he sighed and started driving.
"You fear everyone else will give up on me."
Soobin groaned and looked over at Taehyun who was sitting in the passenger's seat.
"Why can't you just leave?"
"You're the one making me appear here. Can we listen to SHINee?"
"You just got your license and you already have a new car?!" Taehyun gasped, looking at the black Challenger.
"Yup. And I thought it was only right to pick you up in it so everybody at school can see it. You wanna see the inside?"
Taehyun squealed and nodded, sitting in the passenger's seat when Soobin unlocked the door.
"Can I plug my phone in? Can we listen to SHINee?" He asked.
"Of course. Anything you want."
"Can we go get breakfast? I overslept so I didn't have time to eat anythjng," Taehyun said as they started driving.
"Where?"
"McDonald's? I don't know, I like their breakfast food." Soobin smiled and nodded, turning around to go to a McDonald's on the other side of town. "Why are we going to the far one? We'll be late for school."
"We're going on a date... at our spot. We haven't gone on a date in a few months since you're always busy after school. So we're doing it before school."
Taehyun sighed and looked down. He didn't mean to let baseball get in the way of their relationship. He had just kind of been busy with practicing and stuff.
And then he thought about something.
"It's not just my fault though. You constantly study whenever I wanna hang out. Even when we are hanging out, you're studying."
"Well I'm sorry that's important to me!"
"And baseball's important to me! At least I try to make the effort by inviting you to my games and having sleepovers with you afterwards. But you know, it really fucking hurts when I see you in the stands with your books in your lap. And I get it. School is important, especially to you. But sometimes you can take a fucking break from it and talk to me!"
"Do you want something from me? Like a car? Because it seems like you want me to bribe you for your forgiveness or some shit."
"Why would I want your stupid car?! I want you, you stupid asshole!" Taehyun yelled, grabbing his bag and getting out of the car since they were at a red light.
Soobin's eyes widened and he got out too, glad that they were on a very slow street.
"Taehyun, you're embarrassing yourself."
"Really f-fucking nice of you t-to say," Taehyun, an emotional seventeen year old who was shivering because of the December air, said.
Meanwhile, Soobin just turned nineteen a few days before, and he finally realized he should've been the mature one.
"I'm sorry. Wait, are you crying?" He asked when Taehyun stopped walking.
"No. I'm just c-cold."
"I've never made you cry before. Tae, I'm so sorry," he whispered, holding the boy's face in his hands.
Taehyun just shook his head and leaned in to hug him, melting into his boyfriend's arms.
A/N: So we're just gonna imagine Soobin went to school a year late because he's literally like twenty in this story lol.
