Y/n pulled her hair back, but our lips remained attached. I could taste the pear lip balm that was slicked over her lips when I ran my tongue over them and the minty toothpaste on her breath as I inhaled through her shallow breaths.
I traced up the curve in her spine, simultaneously dragging up the back of her shirt. I waited when I reached her shoulder blades. My lips moved from her mouth and onto her cheek. I held her gaze. We silently communicated through stolen glances.
Our clothes found their way to the floor. Her bare skin singed mine. The euphoria coursing through my veins was second to none.
She was mine. Finally, mine.
I hadn't known that I had wanted her that much. I knew that she was my solution but now that I had touched. Now that I had tasted her. I knew that I would crave her more. Was it wrong of me to want her like that? I wanted her for me and only me. I knew that every moment I was with her after this day, I would crave the intense feeling I felt right now.
We both released. Her silent moans invigorating me in my final few thrusts as I pressed nose up against hers.
I panted, letting my breath spread against Y/n's face. My hands cupped other side of her face, brushing her hair with my fingers. I was going to open mouth, but I stopped myself. I didn't want the moment to pass.
I wriggled down, laying Y/n's head on my chest and I pulled the covers over us.
My eyes flew open. Outside the early morning sun was still young. Most of the world would still be stirring under the chirping of the birds outside.
I sighed deeply and nestled into the pillow clenching my eyes shut, willing more sleep to take me. The scent wafting from the pillow was unfamiliar. A mixture of bubble baths and fresh linens. I sit up, rub my eyes. Looking around I finally came to the realisation that I was not in my room. The light airy colours of the room were starkly different from the dark moody tones of my own room.
Memories of the night before flooded back. I propped myself up on my elbows, squinting to my left. But the bed was empty.
I began doubting whether I had dreamed last night. But that was quickly thrown out when I noted my state of undress under the covers.
I tripped over the edge of the bed as I stumbled to find my clothes. They weren't spread if the floor as I had anticipated but rather were draped over the back on the chair. I rushed to throw on my clothes. Why wasn't Y/n here? Normally I was the one that left. This was a first for me.
Was she regretting it? I wanted the floor to swallow me up. Maybe she was in the bathroom. The door was closed. I could make my escape. Avoid the possible awkward encounter. I tried my best to dress quietly. If she was in the bathroom, I didn't want to draw her attention to me.
My shirt buttons were done up haphazardly.
Turning the door handle as slowly as I could I slipped out of Y/n's bedroom and down into the hallway. The sun and a light breeze poured in through the large windows that were slightly ajar. As I scuttled towards the front door, I took note of the pill organiser on the kitchen counter. I would have inspected further but I needed to get out. I didn't handle awkward encounters well.
Picking up my shoes, I reached out for the door handle but a knock at the door startled me. I froze. I was going to be caught red-handed. As if on cue Y/n emerged from a small door that I hadn't noticed before. She put down a thick book on the couch and pushed her glasses up her nose. Her hair was pulled back in a messy ponytail. It spilled over her back.
Her forehead creased when she saw my dishevelled appearance and shoes in my hand. "Are you leaving?" She asked.
Before I could answer the knock sounded once more. I looked at her with a straight face then opened the door.
A delivery man stood outside. "Good morning Y/n." The delivery driver looked up from his tablet and took in my appearance. "You are not Y/n," he announced.
"No. I most certainly am not."
Y/n approached the door from behind me. "Good morning Martin." She reached around me and took the package from Martin.
"If you could just check and sign your prescription here." Martin handed Y/n the tablet.
She rummaged around the b ag and then signed for the delivery.
Martin smiled and waved. "See you next month Y/n. Have a good day."
"And you," she called after him. She stepped back out of the doorway and kicked the door to close it.
"I..er... should have asked this last night. But...ummm... you are on contraception, right?" I motioned to her medication.
She placed the bag on the counter. "Yeah," she confirmed.
I began to go off on a tangent. "Okay, good. Normally I would ask. It's just last night I was so..."
"It's okay," she stopped me. She looked away and down into the bag. "So, do you have to leave?" She asked again.
"No." I dropped my shoes where I was standing. "I just thought that maybe you didn't want me to stay when I woke up and you weren't there."
Y/n's eye's flickered to me and then away again. Did she not realise the effect she had on me when she did that?
"Do you want coffee?" She already knew the answer and slid it towards me.
I noticed there was only one cup. "You're not having any," I asked.
"No." She pulled out a bottle filled with green liquid from the fridge. "I'm not really supposed to have much caffeine."
"What is that?" I took a large gulp of my coffee.
"If its green its probably in here. Kale, spinach, celery, green apple and spirulina."
"Does it taste good?"
"That depends on your definition of good." She began taking out the contents of the bag. The bottles of pills and vials were never ending.
I want to ask but I don't want to ruin what I only just got.
