This one's a mad one
........................................
Not only did I have to resist the urge to flee back to Y/n but the pressure of the case was piling on everyone. We were all filled with angst and the slightest thing would make us snap. Hotch's frown had deepened. JJ was usually quiet. Derek paced back and forth every few minutes. The sensory overload was getting too much for me. Especially with my recovery. On top of that the headaches were getting worse but there seemed to be no obvious root cause.
We couldn't crack the case. Days had passed. We were no further along than when we got in.
"Everybody get some rest," Hotch sighed, checking his watch. "We aren't going to get anywhere of we can't think straight."
None of us had the energy to argue, but Hotch knew as wells as we did that none of us would get a restful night until we got a break in the case.
We drove to our hotel in silence.
I can't explain the relief I felt when my back hit the bed. I found my phone and scrolled back through the camera roll, drooling over every picture that Y/n had sent me. But I hadn't been able to reach her. Either I would miss her call or it would be too late to call her. I hoped that tonight I could get a hold of her.
My hopes weren't too high. After 6 rings there was still nothing.I was ready to give up when finally a croaky hello interrupted the daunting rings.
A breathy sigh followed. I was silent soaking in her sleepy gasps.
"Hello," she repeated. I heard the rustle as she pulled back the phone, presumably too check the caller ID. "Spence?"
"I want to come back," I groaned, jolting off the bed and loosening my tie.
"Is the case over?"
"No," I huffed.
Y/n understood my frustration. "Don't drink too much coffee. You won't be able to sleep."
"It's too late for that." I kicked off my shoes and stripped of my shirt feeling the suffocation overcome me. "I wish I was there with you."
"I'm not going anywhere. I'll be here when you get back. You do what you need to do."
I threw my head back against the headboard. "Y/n," I whispered desperately. "I... I can't..."
"Listen to me Spencer, don't make permanent decisions off of temporary emotions. You'll regret it after." She sounded as desperate about my situation as I was. "What do you need?"
"... You?"
"Just imagine I'm there. Sit back and close your eyes."
"What," I swooped my hair out of my face.
"Just do it," she demanded.
I sighed and closed my eyes.
"Are they closed?"
"Yeah."
"Okay... If I was there what would you do to me."
"Y/n I don't think this will help." I was already hard thinking about what I would do if she was in the same room as me.
"Trust me Spencer..."
I gulped and let my mind wander. "There is so much I want to do to you."
"You want to touch me," she whispered.
"So much." The fire inside me was igniting.
"Where? Tell me," she urged.
A bead of sweat began to form on my head. "Everywhere. I want to touch places on your body that you didn't even know existed."
