I pounded up the stairs not caring about the crazed look that y/n's neighbours gave me as I silently pushed past them.
Just as I reached the door, the door through open and y/n stood bewildered as she bumped into my chest. "Fuck," she rubbed her forearm that she had instinctively used to brace herself. "Spencer?" She looked up at me.
The will left me as I found her eyes. I pushed towards her, taking her face in my hands and smashing my lips into her. The force made her stagger backwards, dropping her bag as I stepped over the threshold. She gasped as I sucked the air from her mouth. I kicked the door shut, threading my fingers around her neck and spinning us around so that her back was to the wall. I had latched on to her and had no intention of letting go.
"Spencer," she moaned into my mouth, sucking my lip before pulling back for a breather. "I have to go."
"No," I moaned, nuzzling up to her neck. "I need you. Stay with me."
She pressed her hand to my cheek. "I wish I could." She gently pushed her palm into my chest. "I got to go."
"Y/n," I caught her wrist. "Please."
Y/n shoulder sagged. She knew that she was giving in. She sighed and looked over to the clock. She rubbed her eyes. "Give me a minute."
She plucked her bag from the floor. Fished out her phone and paced away from me. I leaned back against the door as if I was gate keeping. After a few minutes of what looked like a semi heated discussion from the party on the other end of the call, she finally turned to me with a smile and gave me a thumbs up. "Thank you for understanding. I get that. Thank you regardless."
My muscles relaxed, my shoulders drooping without the burden that I held before. I took her hand in mine looking down at the at fine lines that embellished her skin and the purplish veins that coloured it.
The pounding in my head had been creeping up on me. It was blurring my vision, irritating my ears and my eyes.
"Spencer?" Y/n snapped me out of it. "You good?"
"Yup," I gawked as I pulled myself back out of my head. I linked my hands with Y/n's. She gave it a gentle squeeze pulling me down onto the couch. Finally getting what I had been dying for. The craziest realisation for me was that in that moment I didn't crave to have sex with her. I just wanted to exist with her. All this time my distraction had been sexual release, but at some point that had transitioned to just being Y/n.
She swung her legs over me and settled down on top of me. My head was back against the couch and her nose touched mine. The heat was rising and clasped my hands into the back of her head and on her lower back crushing her against me, not wanting to be absent from her for a millisecond. "So what do you want to do?" she muttered into my mouth.
I groaned flipping the tables on her hand crawling on top of her. "I'm sure we'll think of something."
The rest was a blur of exposed skin and desperate moans after that. Even in the cool air conditioning we were a sweaty mess.
"Where are you going?" I wailed when she pulled herself off of me and took off with her half naked body.
"To shower," she announced, flipping her hair over her shoulder, reaching behind her and unclasping her bra as she walked towards the bathroom. She bent over slipping off her underwear and discarding it where she stood, before disappearing through the doorway. But then her glossy hair remerged. "Aren't you coming?" Her eyes widened as she plastered an innocent façade on her face.
A grin grew on my face. I stumbled over my own jumble of discarded clothes.
In the bathroom, I could see the silhouette of Y/n behind the already steamed glass. I pulled open the door and stepped in the plumes of steam sending a tingle through me. Y/n was stood with her back towards me directly under the rain of water. I was jealous of every single droplet of water that caressed her. She ran her hands through her hair and spun around, noticing me admiring her. I advanced towards her taking her lips between mine. With her lips came the water that cascaded over us. The experience was surreal, we were already gasping for breath from each other and the water that spilled into our mouths only doubled the thrill. I held onto the dips of her hips, but slowly my hand slipped lower and lower until I could clutch onto the flesh of her ass.
I spun her around. She giggled as her foot slipped. I caught her by waist. "Oh shit," she continued folding over in laughter until her ass rubbed up against me. I lifted her up by her mid-rift and shuffled forward pressing her up against the glass. She looked over her shoulder biting her lip as she guided me inside her. She left handprints in the condensation as I filled her up. Pulling out of her, I spun her around again, taking in her naked beauty/
"Stay still," I whispered, standing her up under her water.
"Why?" She whispered back.
"So that I can memorise every inch of you."
"Shut up," she laughed, pushing me away from her and continuing to wash up. Then she backed out the shower. "You carry on. I'm going to make us coffee, then I actually do have to go."
I nodded in acknowledgment, basking under the hot water.
Once I was done, I wrapped a towel around me waist and found my bag that Y/n had set on bed for me. I threw on some clean pants and roughly towed dried my hair. I rifled through my bag to find my shirt until I heard some unrest. O snatched up my shirt and I peeked my head out of the bedroom and saw Y/n stood at the front door arms folded while someone raised voice blasted at her.
"Y/n can you at least act like you care. Do you know how important this is?"
Y/n deeply inhaled. "Firstly, can you please lower your voice. People might hear you." I realised what she really meant was that I might hear. "And of course I care. But you have to underst..."
"Understand what?" The voice began blaring again.
I stepped out the room, closing the door firmly to make my presence known and then pulled the shirt over my head. As I tugged it over my eyes, I saw that it was Aaron at the door.
Y/n and Aaron both looked towards me.
"Hello Spencer," Aaron said as he clenched his jaw trying to be overly polite.
"Hello Aaron."
"Coffee is in the pot," Y/n replied, silently trying to reassure me that everything is fine. "I opened the fire escape window so we can sit out there," she firmly suggested.
"Okay." I gave them once last glance before going in search for a mug.
Once I was out of sight Aaron immediately resorted to whisper shouting. "Y/n he doesn't get it. He doesn't know. He hadn't had to live this. He won't care for any reason other than to be selfish for himself. If something happens to you there some people who won't be able to move on. Why aren't you seeing that? You have to put yourself first this time."
"Aaro..."
"Y/n this little fling or whatever is literally killing you."
"Aaron I said I will go. Didn't I? I'm literally going to go in later today."
"Every minute you put it off is a step back for your health. Do you know how scared I was when my mom said that you had called to say that you weren't going in for your treatment?" He seized Y/n by her shoulders. "You may never get this opportunity again. You used to get that. Think about everything you are sacrificing. You are deferring once whole school year to get this under control. Are you going to throw that all away because of some guy?"
"I think I've heard enough Aaron. I moved my appointment to 3pm. Nothing will have changed in a few hours and if something has. Then I guess it wasn't meant to be."
"Y/n are you hearing yourself. This is a pilot programme. These stem cells aren't going to wait around for you. If you keep missing appointments, they will give your place to someone else."
"Thank you for your concern, Aaron." She gripped the door ready to close it.
Aaron gulped in on last ditch attempt. "I know there is nothing I can say to change your mind. But I'm still trying, because you are my best friend. You're essentially my sister. I know I keep talking about how your parents will feel but what I really mean is me. How will I survive without you?" Aaron began choking up. "Who will tell me when I'm being an ass straight to my face."
"I know you're worried Aaron. So am I. But there is only so much worrying I can do until it feels like I am being suffocated."
"I know. I'm sorry." Aaron hugged her and swiftly left.
"What was all that about," I enquired.
She took the chance to pour her own coffee. "I'll tell you one day," she sighed staring into the abyss of her mug.
