A/N Sorry it is a day late! I got a little busy with life other work stuff ☹ I am writing this Barbatos story with female pronouns. However, if someone is interested, I am happy to rewrite this part with GN or any other pronouns. Please let me know! This Barbatos story will be a multi-part story! Love In the Moonlit Darkness Part 1: First Meeting

3rd Person POV

Barbatos was in the kitchen preparing tea for Lord Diavolo when he overheard Lucifer and Diavolo speaking of the newly planned exchange program. Quickly grabbing an extra cup, he made his way to the two demons, served them their tea, and left for the afternoon to prepare for the evening meal. As he was gathering the materials for dinner, he pondered what the upcoming year would have in store. With some contemplation, he decided to look at a few outcomes. What he saw, he could not have prepared himself for. In each scenario, he saw a beautiful female with h/l/h/c hair, e/c eyes, and a stunning complexion, he became more and more bewitched.

He saw her as she made her way through the year. She had a bright personality and was clever and intriguing. In each scenario that he looked through, he saw himself and the female becoming closer and closer, either by his doing or hers. A small blush crept across his face as he became increasingly distracted; so much so that he didn't hear Diavolo approach him.

"Barbatos?... Barbatos?.... Barbatos!" Diavolo called.

Stunned, Barbatos quickly turned around and bowed as he apologized. "Excuse me, my lord. I was not paying attention. It will not happen again." Barbatos kept his eyes down, the faintest hint of leftover blush on his face, as he kept thinking of her. He didn't even know her name yet, and he was already enamored.

"Hahaha, it's quite alright Barbatos. You seem distracted tonight. Is there anything that I can help you with?" Diavolo questioned.

"No my lord. I was merely curious about our upcoming exchange students and decided to look and gather some extra information about them."

"Ah. And by 'them' I am assuming you are speaking of Y/N given that we already determined Solomon, Simeon, and Luke as exchange students last week?" Diavolo mused.

Barbatos now knows her name. He sheepishly smiled and said, "Yes my lord. I was curious about the human we will be summoning."

"Well," Diavolo chuckled. "Did you see anything of interest?"

"Yes. It would appear as if bringing this human to Devildom will bring quite the adventure for many of us," Barbatos confirmed bringing his hand to his chin as he continued thinking about Y/N.

"Well, let us get ready for a fun year!" Diavolo beamed.

"Yes, my lord." Barbatos agreed.

This year would be one that would change Barbatos forever. As he continued to prepare alongside Lord Diavolo and Lucifer for the exchange program to kick off, he couldn't shake his thoughts away from Y/N. Knowing the fate of a blossoming romance that awaited him and her during the upcoming year, would he engage immediately or would he wait for her? He didn't know what to do but he was getting antsier as her arrival approached.
