The Seven DEADLY Sins: An Obey Me! Horror Story

Part 2 - Greed

To greed, all nature is insufficient. - Seneca

~

I'm frantically sprinting barefoot through the Devildom forest. How I got to this spot, I have no idea. But right now, the only thing I can focus on is moving from him. Why is this happening? I thought to myself in fear. My feet continued to move, one in front of the other until something caught me. Looking down, I saw my foot ensnared in a collection of tree roots.

Urgently, I tried to free myself, kicking wildly. My heart was beating in my head, my blood thickening with adrenaline. I have to keep moving. If I were to stop, I can't predict what will happen to me, and for that, I keep going. After struggling for who knows how long, I was finally freed. I picked myself up and began to run again, looking behind me for him. Turning my head, I ran straight into a solid figure. Terror encased me as I screamed in fright.

"Oh don't be like that. I only want ya, so come here," Mammon spoke, all of the playfulness that I knew from him was gone. His voice was now dark, twin-like to the rest of his mannerisms.

I slid my body back, shaking violently as Mammon closed in on me. Leaning down, he began to grab for me. In a desperate plea, I kicked up, connecting with his jaw. I scrambled to my feet as he stumbled backward. Turning, I ran from him as fast as I could.

"Damn you human!" he snarled, baring his now fang-like teeth.

My head was pounding, my feet, bleeding, as I tried to make my escape from Mammon's clutches. Seeing an opening, I realized I was near a clearing. Hopeful that I was close to being rid of this wretched forest, I sped up my pace. When I reached the clearing, my hope disappeared. In the trees were hundreds of crows, intensely watching me. Their squalls echoed loudly, making me stumble from disorientation.

Descending from the branches, each crow took my stumble as an opportunity to attack. Instinctually, I raised my arms to cover my head, a last-ditch effort to protect some part of me. The talons scraped across my skin, digging down and gripping onto my muscles. I continued to try to move through the clearing, swatting my arms around. As I moved, I was continually met with vicious crows pecking and clawing at me. Each attack weakened and slowed me more, but I couldn't stop now.

Finally making it to the other edge of the clearing, and through the seemingly never-ending sea of crows, I was once again protected by the covers of the forest. I was able to pick up my speed in my effort to continue escaping. Holes littered my body in perpetuum; blood trickled down from the many wounds. Each of my movements was becoming more painful. It felt as though my body would rip open from any and all of the gashes. Blood free-fell down my face, temporarily but efficiently blinding me. As I tried to wipe my blood from my wounds, I heard his voice.

"Hahaha, what's wrong with ya human?! Can't handle a few birds?" he growled.

My body tensed as I listened intensely for his location. Unable to pinpoint where he was, I began stumbling forward as I continued to wipe my face. Fear coursed through my veins propelling me faster. I navigated tree limbs and roots as I tried to find some escape from this wretched forest. My hope has completely diminished of ever finding an escape, but I can't stop now. So long as I'm nowhere near him, I'll try until I'm beyond desperate to get out of this damned timberland.
