We came to Ellie's school to pick her up since it was her last day
"Daddy papa!" She said as we picked her up
"Hey bug happy last day !" We both said
"Can I talk to you to privately please ?" The teacher said
"Uh yeah Ellie go say goodbye to your friends ." I said setting her down
"Is something wrong ?" Carlos said
"Me and the staff don't think Ellie should come back with us next year ..." she said
"Did she do something?" I asked
"Well not directly she's just not the brightest necessarily." She said
"Are you calling our child stupid ?" Carlos said as we both looked at one another
"No of course not I just don't think that the environment you two foster at your home is meant to be brought here .." she said
"The environment we foster ? You mean us loving our child ?" I said
"I mean the LGBT culture and how you teach her how it's okay and then she goes and talks about it in class .."
"Number one it is okay and Ellie has a right to believe what she wants to believe all we told her is that it's nothing to be ashamed of and how it's natural."
"And that is why we don't want her coming back now if you excuse me I have other parents to talk to .." she said walking off
"So.. what do we do now she has to go to school ." Carlos said
"Well we have all summer to find a new school let's just go get our daughter and celebrate with her .." I said as we walked into the classroom
"Ellie you ready to go ?" Carlos said picking her up
"Yeah !"
"What flavor ice cream you gonna get bug ." I asked her as we got in the car
"Mint chip !" She said
"Delicious." I said buckling her in
