Fitz's Pov
Keefe and I stand staring after Sophie, well him staring, me just standing awkwardly. It hurts sure to see Sophie with him, considering all of our history, but they are meant for each other, they always were. I love her of course, but something was never right with us. The blonde boy turns around and smiles at me.
"So, I guess we should go get ready," Keefe shrugs.
"Yeah, I guess so. I'll see you later then," I smile.
He holds out his hand, "It's nice to have you back man."
I give him a hug, "It's good to be back."
We go our separate ways to get ready for tonight. As soon as I get back to my room I shower and style my hair. I throw on a light gray tunic and some black pants, I tuck some throwing stars and daggers into my boots and pockets. You never know when someone is going to try and kill you these days. It's hard to believe that there was once a time where no one had to be worried about crazy organizations trying to destroy the world and kill you all the time. There once was a time where even thinking about death was a joke. I check my appearance in the mirror before stepping out to meet up with everyone. By the time I get there, everyone is already standing by the leap master. Keefe jumps up and down and points at me.
"I told you! I told you Wonderboy would take the longest to get ready! You all said Biana but no, I know him better, I knew that he was going to take forever styling his hair!" he shouts. "You owe me a hot makeout sesh later."
Sophie groans, her face going bright red, "Keefe! Shut up!"
"What? We're engaged to be married. I am allowed to talk about this stuff."
She puts her head in her hands, "Not. In. Public."
"Anywayyyy, let's go. I made reservations and we need to leave now if we want to make it," Marella says, taking Biana's hand.
I look between the two of them suspiciously, before I can contemplate their relationship I am pulled into the light. The warmth takes a hold of my body and I focus all my attention on keeping the pieces together. I focus on the tight grip of Linh's hand on mine. As a group, we step out onto the streets of Atlantis. Biana makes a beeline for a restaurant called the Hunter's Moon, the diner is fairly packed and a woman in a white suit stands in front of a black wooden table.
"Hi, there should be a reservation under the Fosters?" Biana asks, winking at Sophie and Keefe. Sophie wrinkles her nose mockingly at the girl.
The woman smiles at us, "Ah yes, you must be Biana. Congratulations by the way."
Biana blushes and giggles nervously, "Oh no, I'm not the bride to be. It's my friend here Sophie, and that is her fiance Keefe."
"My apologies," she turns to the two. "Congrats. Now, your table is right this way."
We follow her to a table in the back, it's a nice round booth tucked away near the kitchen. All the couples sit next to each other leaving Linh and myself sitting across from each other on either end. I pick up my menu taking a quick glance at the foods before turning my gaze up to the dark-haired beauty across from me. Her silvery eyes meet mine and I look back to the menu. We order drinks and chat excitedly about the wedding.
"So! Where were you thinking about for the venu?" Biana asks.
Keefe's eyes light up, "We were thinking maybe the sanctuary! It's gorgeous, plus Silveny will be there too!"
Linh gasps, "Oh my gosh that's perfect! If you wanted Wylie, Marella, Tam and I could figure something out for natural decorations!"
"That sounds perfect, I bet we can find some ways to collaborate with that stuff," Sophie smiles. She takes Keefe's hand and stares at him lovingly. "Right now I'm just trying to focus on the present. Being happy, here, with my family, and a gorgeous fiance."
"Ugh, someone get me a partner. I'm sick of being single when all this sappy stuff is going on," Marella scoffs.
We all look at her with shock on our faces. Wylie is the one to speak up, "Wait, you and Biana? You two aren't together?"
The two girls look at each other and burst out laughing. The rest of us let out fake laughs, still entirely confused. They rest their foreheads together trying to catch their breath, which only fuels our confusion.
"Marella and me? Dating? Us two together?" Biana says in between giggles.
"Why would you ever think that?" Marella asks.
All of us laugh harder trying to catch our breath. After calming down we chat about life, memories of all the crazy events we have ever been through. It makes me realize all the crap we have been put through even at a young age. Our food comes fairly quickly and after a while, a lot of us are a bit tipsy. Since we are of age now we ordered some Fizzleberry wine which happened to be both a good and bad decision. It was nice to talk normally without anyone being mad at me, without the awkwardness, without the glares, and passive-aggressive afterthoughts. It was nice to just all be friends again, to be a family again.
Yay new chapter! I think I may start trying to wrap this up soon, just a quick warning. Stay awesome you lovely people!
