So the time for wedding festivities was here..It was haldi day..lots of hustle bustle was going in Maheswari Mansion..

Ap - Sujata Sanskaar aur laksh kahaan hai?? Haldi ka muhurat ho raha hai..

Sujata- aate hi honge jiji..Lo wo aagaye...

They look upwards and see uttara and pari bringing sanskaar and laksh forcefully while they were resisting..they both were dressed in vest and dhoti..

Ap- arey kya hua tumhe?? Aisa chehra kyu banaya hai??

Sanskaar(with hesitation)- badi maa kya yeh karna jaruri hai??

Laksh- haa maa..yeh wali rasam rehne dete hai na..

Sujata - arey chora yeh kya bole hai.. Kyu nhi karni yeh rasam tum dono ko??

Sanskaar(making a face)- mom yeh  sticky haldi nhi lagani humein..

Laksh- haa pure yellow yellow ho jayenge hum..joker dikhenge..

Ap- arey ye kya baat hui?? Haldi k bina baaki rasmein bhi start nhi hoti..Aur beta haldi toh sabse important hai..haldi lagane se hi toh tumhaare chehre p chamak aayegi..khil uthoge ekdum..nhi lagaoge toh log kahenge ki dulhan toh chand jitni khubsurat aur uske mukable dulhe m koi noor hi nhi hai..

Laksh(rolling his eyes) -  haldi laga lo ya kuch aur,dulhan ki khoobsurti ka koi muqabla waise bhi nhi hai..

All looks at him raising their eyebrows...

Ap(teasingly)- achcha?? itni khubsurat hai teri dulhan??

Laksh(blushing)- maa plz ..

All of them giggles seeing laksh like this..

Ap- par beta yeh rasm jaruri hai..haldi ka shagun hota hai aur uske baad hi shaadi ki shruwaat hoti hai..

Laksh(pouting)- nhi maa ..main nhi karne wala yeh..

Sanskaar - main bhi nhi

Ap(making a fake sad face) - theek hai ab tum dono nhi maan rahe toh kya hi kar sakte hai?? Jaisi tumhaari marzi..ab phir ragini aur swara ko bhi haldi nhi lag payegi phir...

Sanaskaar(confused) - unko kyu nhi lagegi??

Ap- dulhe ke jo haldi lagti hai usme se bachi hui haldi hi dulhan ko lagti hai..

Laksh- kya?? Par kyu??

Sujata- iska matlab yeh hai ki dono ek dusre k rang m rang jaave..dulhe ka rang dulhan p chad jaata hai...

Hearing this both got into thinking...

Ap- par ab tumhe nhi karna toh theek hai phir..

Laksh - nnn..nhi maa ...karenge na yeh haldi..bilkul karenge ...isme kya ho gaya..

Ap- par tum hi toh...

Sanskaar- ab aapne hi toh kaha ki haldi k bina shaadi ki rasmein shuru nhi hoti..its ok ..hum tayaar hai..

Ap(smiling victoriously)- theek hai toh phir.. chalo..

She takes them both and makes them sit on low stool (paatla) an all ladies start applying haldi to them one by one...

Uttara purposely applied it all over their faces and and pari and some other cousins joined in..at the end both of them were completely smeared with haldi paste..

But both of them didn't mind it infact enjoyed it afterall thus haldi will later will be applied to their bride..

Ironically both of them were thinking about ragini but whom will fate support?? Whose haldi will actually be applied to ragini?

After boys haldi were done,Pari and uttara along with some other girls were supposed to go take the haldi to baadi

Laksh listens to Ap and uttara talking..

Ap- Maine haldi kitchen m rakhi hai..tum achche se tray saja dena aur bowl ko achche se wrap kar dena baadi le jaane se pehle..

Uttara - ji badi maa..

Laksh thinks of something and then goes to the kitchen...he looks at the bowls kept there..the trays bowls were kept in were different so as to distinguish which one was of sanskaar's and which was of laksh's...

He swaps the bowls and smiles happily..

Laksh - yeh haldi lagne k baad hum humesha k liye ek dusre k rang m rang jayenge..

He turns happily and about to go when he saw uttara standing there...
He gets shocked seeing her while she was looking at him sternly...

Uttara - yeh kya tha bhai??

Laksh(scared) - kkk..kya??

Uttara- jo aapne abhi kiya??...I can't believe it bhai...

Laksh(gulping) - actually wo wo...

Uttara - mujhe nhi pata tha ki aap aise ho sakte hai...

Laksh- uttara pehle meri baat toh..

Uttara - itne romantic...how cute...

Laksh(confused) -huhh??

Uttara(happily )- kya line boli thi aapne... waah..yeh haldi lagne k baad ek dusre k rang m rang jaayenge..how sweet..

Laksh looks at her for few seconds confused and then realized that she had just heard him and haven't seen him swapping the bowls...

He takes a sigh in relief...

Laksh( scrathing his forehead) - uhmm..uh yeah..wo main...main wo jaata hu..I..I need to take a shower..

Saying this he almost runs from there while uttara laughs from behind...

Later Pari,Uttara and some other girls comes to baadi ...Dadi and Sharmishta welcomes them and all of them gets settled..

Pari- dadiji kaha hai humaari devraani ji..??

Dadi- Abhi bulate hai..

She sends few girls to bring swaragini...

After few minutes they brings ragini out..she was wearing a simple but beautiful yellow ghagra looking as radiant as ever..

Pari and uttara goes towards them..

Pari keeps her palm under her chin..

Pari- Abbi tak toh haldi lagi bhi nhi aur humaari devraani itna khil rhi hai ..kya baat hai?? Raaz kya hai,humein bhi toh bataiye??

Ragini blushing looks down..

Uttara- Bhabhi sach m u r looking very beautiful..

Ragini smiles at that..

Pari- waise swara kaha hai?? Wo kya abhi bhi tayaar ho rhi hai??

Hearing this Dadi and Shomi looks at each other worriedly...Ragini also looks tensed..

Pari looks at their faces...

Pari- kya hua?? Koi problem hai??

Dadi- wo beta...

Just then swara comes out with few girls..

Pari and Uttara looks at her and gets shocked..

Actually In serials they show that haldi applied to groom first and then bride ..maybe it happen like that at some places but on the contrary in our custom its applied to bride first and then that haldi is applied to groom..I guess that's why our country and it's traditions are so diverse and yet meaningful...I showed groom first as that goes with my story..
