"Here, let me help you melamin' Legolas chuckled as he swiftly picked up my body from the rather tall bed and put me down on the ground.

'Are you feeling okay?' he asked me as he fixed my dress and brushed off a few strands of hair from my face. 'I'm okay, but my back hurts' I said as i winced a little. Yes, i was eight months pregnant now and this big baby bump was not helping at all. The strong and independent Y/n who had fought in the war against the One Sauron, now needed assistance with everything.

'I'll give you a back massage today later in the night okay meleth?' Legolas kissed my forehead as we headed out. Arwen was going go return to Gondor that day and so we were going to go bid her farewell.

We were heading down the stairs when I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen. I clutched onto Legolas's tunic, asking him to stop. A painful groan left my mouth as I crouched down. Legolas turned towards me with worried eyes. I often have these episodes of pain but Legolas always helps me with as much worry and care as he did the first time.
'Y/n! ' Legolas kneeled down beside me, 'what's wrong? '. I was about to answer him when I felt water trickling down my legs. I looked at Legolas with wide eyes, 'i-i think my water broke'. I saw the light fade from his face and it was quickly replaced by panic.
'What?! Do you want me to take you to our chambers or-or should I call Elrond but you will need the healers too- are you in too much pain- wait- that means the baby is coming!? ' he blurted out and I could see how nervous he was.

'Stop it you fool, take me to the healers and ask someone to call for Elrond! ' I yelled out annoyed as the pain slowly became more unbearable. Legolas picked me up and rushed me to the healers. He put me down on the bed and healers came rushing in to the room soon followed by Elrond and Arwen.

'A-Ada it hurts so bad' I cried out as tears finally left my eyes. I felt the bed sink beside me as I turned to see Arwen. She took my hand in hers and told me it will be alright as she drew calming circles on my palm with her thumb. I could faintly see that Legolas was pacing up and down the room behind all the healers.

'Legolas! Stop panicking and be here with your wife! ' Arwen scolded as Legolas quickly made his way to my side. He planted a soft kiss on my forehead muttering the words 'it's going to be okay melleth nin, you're so strong, you'll get through this'.
My eyes started getting heavier as I felt myself giving into the pain which was unbearable now. I was jerked awake by Elrond, 'you have to stay with us y/n, you have to stay awake!'.

One of the healers spread apart my legs and lifted up my dress before covering me up in a blanket. The endless muttering and chattering in the room was driving me crazy. One of the healers popped out her head from beneath the blanket and said, 'it's here! The baby is here! My Lady I need you to push as hard as you can, push my lady push'.

It was not long before everyone started chanting, 'push push push'. I gave in every ounce of strength left in me as I pushed and left out cries of pain. Legolas kept wiping the tears that left my eyes, 'you can do this my love, you'll do this for us, for the child'.

I gathered all my strength again as I pushed harder.

Time skip

'I c-cant do this I ca- AARGHH' I cried out after what felt like hours of 'pushing'.
'You can y/n, you can do this, please just push a little more' Elrond said.

'Just a little more my Lady, the baby is almost out, just a little more' one of the healers said. Hearing this I decided to try one last time. I pushed again with whatever I had left in me and moments later, a little baby's cries filled the room.
'It's here my Lady! It's a girl! ' the healer said as a small little baby, still covered in blood, hastily wrapped up in a piece of cloth was handed to me.

And as I looked into her face I realised that all of this pain was worth it. I turned my head to Legolas who too had tears in his eyes.
'She is here' I managed to whisper out.
'Yes my love, yes she is here' Legolas kissed my head as he carefully took the baby from my hands to his. I had always dreamt of seeing such a sight, my husband holding my newborn baby with the brightest smile in his face and tears of joy in his eyes.

'What will she be called? ' Arwen said from beside me.
Legolas and I looked towards each other and said together, 'Lorien'.
I was about to take her in my arms again when a wave of pain hit me again, this time worse than all the times before.
I finally gave in to the pain as I felt my self slowly passing out.
I could faintly hear Legolas yell, 'Elrond what is happening to her?!' while Arwen said from beside me, 'stay with us y/n'.

Lorien's crys were the last thing I heard before darkness took over me.

Time skip

The bright sunlight hit my face as I slowly opened my eyes. I looked around to see Legolas seated on a chair beside my bed.
'L-legolas? ' I said out before he rushed to my side.
'Y/n! I thought I had lost you y/n, I t-thought Lorien will have to grow up without a mother, i-im so sorry' he said as tears left his eyes.
'I'm okay my love, I'm alright, I'm right here' I said as I wiped one of his tears away and pulled him in for a soft kiss.

'Lorien, where is she, can I meet her?' I said as Legolas nodded and left the room. He came back soon with Lorien in his hands and Elrond and Arwen behind him.
I took Lorien, who was sleeping peacefully, in my arms. I smiled to myself. So this is what it feels like to be a mother.

'How many hours was I out? ' I asked turning towards Elrond.
'4 days my daughter' Elrond said.
'What?!' I said surprised.

'Yes my dear one, four days and you had us all worried, Legolas didn't leave your side for even a moment, he didn't sleep neither did he eat anything' Elrond said as I turned to Legolas with scolding eyes.

'Arwen, you haven't left? ' I said as Arwen sat down beside me.
'Of course little sister, how could I leave you and my niece and go back, I'll be here for atleast another month' she said.
'We'll leave you three alone for some time' Arwen said as she pulled Elrond out of the room.

'She is so beautiful' I said to Legolas as I cradled the little girl in my arms.
'She is perfect melleth nin, and so are you, thank you for giving me the joy of becoming a father, I love you y/n and I love our little angel' Legolas said.

'I love you too Legolas' I said.

'So do you think she'll say Ada first or Nana? ' I said to him.
'Oh she'll say Ada I'm sure' Legolas chuckled.
