When you sail to Gray Havens together *EPILOGUE*

A few thousand years later...

It had been more than three thousand years since you were crowned queen of Mirkwood. Your journey after that was filled with ups and downs. But you and Legolas had grown Mirkwood into a strong, prosperous, peaceful and happy kingdom. You had to bear the loss of your friends and family but you also got to see Lor get married and have kids and grow into the powerful and kind person she was. You and Legolas had been talking about it for quite some time now. And it was finally the right time to hand over the kingdom to your daughter and sail to gray havens. 

Lor's coronation ceremony was over a week before and finally after saying your goodbyes, today was the day you and Legolas would travel to the Gray Havens. 'Are you excited to meet your mother and Thranduil again?' you asked Legolas as you put your head on his shoulder. It was your final few hours in Mirkwood. 'I've waited so long to meet them, I can't believe this day has finally come, Nana will love you' he said placing a kiss on your forehead. 

'We have come a long way haven't we?' you smiled. 'Yes we have, from the destroying the ring to building this kingdom together, I'm glad that I've had you by my side, I wouldn't have wanted to this with anyone else meleth nin. From the moment I met you in the Fellowship, you have always ruled over my heart, with your smile, courage and love you have helped me become who I am today. I'm thankful that i was the lucky one who got chosen by you. Thank you for always supporting me and loving me unconditionally. Our journey in middle earth comes to an end. And now I cannot wait to spend eternity with you, forever loving you' he said. 

'Oh Legolas, I'm the lucky one to have met you, I wouldn't have been who i am without you, thank you for always loving me, protecting me and supporting me. Thank you for being father of my child. Our journey upto here was filled with so many barriers, but I wouldn't have had it any other way Legolas. I'm glad you're the one I get to spend forever with. I love you.' you said. 'I love you too meleth nin' he said as he pulled you in for a kiss. 

'Save some love for me too Ada and Nana' Lor's voice beamed as she entered the balcony you and Legolas were in. 'Our love will always be with you little one, and we're sure you'll rule this kingdom even better than we did.' you said as you pulled her in for a hug. Legolas joined the hug as well. 'I will miss you both' Lor said as she pulled away, tears brimming her eyes. 'So will we little one, so come back to us very quick, we'll be waiting' Legolas said. 

'My Lord, the horses are ready' a servant came in and informed you. 'Lets go' you smiled.

You both hugged Lor and said your goodbyes as you boarded the White Ship which would travel to the Undying Lands of Valinor. You finally parted with Lor, teary eyes and boarded the ship. Legolas held you close against his chest as the ship took off and you waved goodbye to Lor. 'I love you both!' Lor cried out. 'We love you too' you and Legolas said together. Lor kept waving to you as her figure started growing smaller and smaller and then finally out of sight. You and Legolas then turned around to see the sight in front of you. The sun was setting, colouring the sky in a million hues. Beyond the horizon lay the Undying Lands. 

You looked up to Legolas, 'And so we begin the next chapter in our lives'. 

'Yes, and I'll begin all the rest with you by my side, now and forever.' he said. 

'I love you meleth nin' you smiled. 

'I love you too meleth nin' he said as he brought you closer by your waist, 'I forever will' he said, kissing your lips.

Author's POV

And the ship finally faded into the horizon, taking Y/n and Legolas into the Undying Lands, where they would spend their eternity, together. The story which began thousands of years ago because of The One Ring, finally comes to an end.
