                               Mad Places

Thursday went by so fast and it was already Friday.

I was still processing everything that happened on the night of the game. I smiled every time I replayed the conversation in my head. This time I didn't stress over what I was going to wear.

Austin had come to the juice spot yesterday as he always does and we exchanged numbers and I gave him my address so he'd know where to pick me up.

My phone lit up. I had received a text. It was from Austin.

AUSTIN: I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU TONIGHT

He is truly the cutest. I laughed to myself and texted back

ME: I GUESS I CAN'T WAIT EITHER

Hours passed and I was dressed and ready to go.

I heard a knock. I went to the door and looked through the peephole. It was Austin. He was thirty minutes early. Punctual. I didn't think he could be more perfect.

I opened the door and I was immediately mesmerized. Of course, there was that stare again. Once again he kissed my hand and I didn't notice until after the fact.

"Shall we be on our way?" He said finally.

I smiled. "Let's do this."

He took my hand and escorted me out my house. We got in the car and we were on our way.

I can believe I was in the same car as Austin Rivers. He looked so good. He was wearing a navy blue Polo shirt and dark denim jeans and some sneakers. He also smelled good. Really good!

"I see you got a haircut." I said, breaking the silence.

He glanced at me and smirked.

"You have a keen eye" He replied with a smile.

"You look beautiful."

"Thank you! So do you."

He busted out laughing.

"Wow it seems like you have a sense of humor too Dez."

He used that name again. I smiled again.

"So what are we doing on this date? You have me completely in the dark."

He smiled like he had a pocket full of surprises for this date.

"We're going to eat."

I'm known to probe so I couldn't help but ask.

"And what restaurant are we going to?"

He paused with that smirk still on his face.

"Blake's place."

My eyes got wide.

"Oh wow I didn't even know Blake had a restaurant."

Austin chuckled lightly and gave me a quick glance.

"No we're actually going to Blake's place. He planned a dinner party earlier this week. I wasn't going to go because I didn't have a date but then we crossed paths...again."

I started to get nervous. What was Austin thinking inviting me to an event with all of his teammates!?

"What!?" I finally responded.

"I don't know about this Austin. I don't know your friends like that."

Hell I barely knew him!
