Mad Secrets
It's been a couple of weeks since I first met Austin at my job (five weeks to be exact)! Since then I quit the juice bar and starting doing what I love, which is interior decorating. I only started to pursue it because Austin convinced me to. He said it would make him very unhappy if he was doing what he loved and I wasn't. With that being said, I happily quit!
In these past couple of weeks, word also spread around that Austin was dating a mystery girl. I didn't know what to make of this. I still don't know what to make of it but I try to deal with it the best I can. Besides all of this, Austin and I had talked about the big decision...MOVING IN TOGETHER.
We both feel moving in together would help strenghten our relationship, besides it just being something we want to do. We just had to see each other all the time. That was another reason.
Tonight, the Clippers are playing the Sacremento Kings. I planned on going to the game to support bae! It feels good saying that. It's a home game, of course. I actually haven't had the pleasure of supporting Austin at an away game. Hopefully our schedules won't conflict and we can make it happen.
I was pulling into my designated parking spot. I had no idea that the players' spouse or girlfriends could receive designated parking. It really was another perk of dating Austin Rivers.
I get to my seat and the first person I see is someone who I really didn't care to see. Diamond. Austin's ex. I never thought I would date a man and I obviously never thought I would get catty with another woman over this man.
"Hi Destiny" she said sarcastically.
"Hi Diam-I'm sorry I meant bitch. How are you?" I replied with the same amount of sarcasm.
We both rolled our eyes at each other.
'Get yourself together Dezi.' I said, talking to myself.
I wasn't going to let Diamond or any of her hoochie friends stop me from enjoying MY baby play.
The game started and it was said that Austin was starting. I had no idea he was starting. This is probably the surprise he was telling me about earlier. The game got off to a great start. I'm still not that good at understanding basketball but I knew the game got off to a great start because we were winning by ten points.
I was enjoying the game until someone came beside me. I looked up and it was Diamond.
"Can I help you!?" I said with all the sass in the world.
She smiled. I could tell it was fake. Obviously.
"Actually, Destiny. You can't help me and you can't help Austin either."
I started to get irritated with this girl. I haven't been in a fight since high school but I didn't mind going back to those days.
"What the hell are you talking about Diamond?"
"Look it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that Austin has needs. Needs that you're clearly not fulfilling because I'm the one he talks to late at night. He remembers everything I used to do for him...sexually. And from what Austin tells me, you two haven't even fucked yet!"
The more I talked with this girl, the more I really wanted to smash her face in.
"Funny. Austin and I are very straight forward with each other. We don't keep secrets from each other. If this was something that really bothered him, he would've said something by now." I said, trying to deny the possibility that this was true.
"Well, I'm sure he's going to be stressed tonight and I've dated him long enough to know what he prefers to relieve that stress."
"What makes you think he's going to be stressed? Austin and I are madly in love!"
That's when Diamond pointed to the scoreboard. The final buzzer sounded. The Clippers lost.
"Now we'll just have to see who Austin prefers talking to tonight..."
My head starting spinning really fast. A whole bunch of thoughts immediately came to my head. Austin lost. How would I help him cope with this lost? Then, of course, I was thinking about everything Diamond's bitch ass told me. Was Austin really having side conversations with his ex and were they about sex. Austin and I hadn't had sex yet but he never once complained and we didn't rush it either. Then it hit me. It WAS TRUE! He had to be talking to Diamond. How else could she have known that we hadn't had sex!?
I drove to Austin's apartment really fast, still contemplating if I wanted to confront him or just try to catch him in a lie. I got there and Austin hadn't gotten home yet so I waited. Fifteen minutes later, Austin shows up.
"Hey." I said.
"Hey Dez." he replied.
"Sorry about the game. Is there anything I can do to make you feel better."
He hesitated.
"No, you're good. I'm just gonna head straight to bed. Have a good night."
He said all of this implying that he didn't want me to spend the night. I couldn't let it go. I just had to know.
"Are you sleeping with Diamond?" I boldy asked.
Austin turned around with such shock and disbelief in his face.
"Where's this coming from?" he asked.
"Please just answer the question Austin. You can be honest with me. I'm a big girl."
He started to get red in the face. This might be the most upset I've ever seem him. Crazy thing is that he's never been upset with me.
"Why would you even think I still associate with Diamond, let alone, have sex with her?"
"Well you have been talking to her about sex. You even told her that we haven't had sex yet."
He paused and the shocked look came back. "She told you?"
Everything was coming to the light and I didn't think I was gonna like the end of this conversation.
"Yes she told me! I just don't understand Austin. We've been upfront and honest about everything. If you were so worried about sex, how come you never mentioned it?"
"Certain things you shouldn't have to mention Destiny!" He said raising his voice.
I could tell he was upset because he called me Destiny instead of Dez.
At this point I realized that we were bound to have our arguments. This is also when I realized I loved Austin so much that I was going to fight for this love. I was frustrated but I was still in love like never before. This was mad love. I decided to just go home and sleep it off.
"Okay well, again I'm sorry about your game. I'm sorry you felt like you had to keep secrets from me. I'm also sorry I made you upset, I didn't mean to."
I could sense him calming down and I knew he was calm when he changed his mind and invited me to stay the night.
"I'm sorry too babe. I know I should have been upfront with you and it will never happen again. Do you want to come inside?"
I wasn't upset with Austin anymore but my mother always taught me that if you let the person you love get away with something of this magnitude, they will continue to take advantage of you. Although, I still loved Austin, he had to really understand his mistakes.
"Nah I'm good. But why don't you call Diamond and tell me what she said...tomorrow!"
