Chapter 23

Mad Company

I've met Austin's siblings already but I'm extremely nervous about meeting his parents.

Today is the day that I finally meet them. I just hope they like me and they are able to see that I truly love Austin and I'm not in it for the money.

I looked at my watch. It was 8:30AM. I started to get up to open the curtains until Austin pulled me back by the arm. He easily overpowers me.

"Nooooo." He whined.

"Stay in bed with me babe."

I smiled. He truly lights up my world. I wanted to tell him that I was pregnant but I was still shocked myself.

"We have to get ready. You're mother wants us at their house by eleven remember?"

He didn't say anything, he just pulled me back by my arm again but this time he wrapped both arms around me so I wouldn't be able to get back up.

He was so warm. I love when he holds me this way. I feel so protected.

"Austin if we could, I would want to spend the day in bed with you but you know we can't. We have to go to your parents place."

Austin sighed and then he let me go.

We both got showered, then dressed then we were on our way.

Once we got to his folk's place, Spencer was already at the door.

"THEY'RE HERE!!!!!!!" he screamed at the top of his lungs. This kid was truly a comedian. Austin and I couldn't help but laugh.

A small woman who was slightly taller than me approached us and I instantly knew it was Austin's mom.

I figured she was going to hug Austin first but, to my surprise, she hugged me first!

"Oh Destiny! It's so nice to finally put a face with a name!"

"Thank you so much it's so nice to finally meet you Mrs. Rivers."

"Yes! I'm glad you're here because you and Callie can help out in the kitchen."

I turned around to see Callie smiling as she handed me an apron.

Mrs. Rivers then walked out the room.

There was a brief awkward silence. The last time I talked with Callie, I told her that I was pregnant...with her brother's baby!

"How do you feel?" she asked.

I hesitated. "I feel good. I think it's a little too soon for the morning sickness and stuff."

She gave me a cold, blank stare.

"Look Destiny, I know you're scared and all but you obviously have to tell Austin. If I know my brother and if he loves you like you both say he does, everything will be fine. He's not going to leave you and he DAMN sure will not abandon this baby! So tell him!"

I knew sooner or later Callie would pressure me into telling Austin before I was ready. But she was right. What was I so afraid of? Austin and I both have good careers and even if anything were to happen, we have family...on both sides.

And on top of all that...we are both madly in love with each other.

"Okay you're right. I'll tell him after dinner."

We hugged.

Dinner time came around and everyone was seated at the table. Altogether, it was Mr. and Mrs. Rivers, Callie, Jeremiah, his girlfriend, Spencer, Adam, Darnell, Austin and myself.

We were all having great conversation and then that's when Mr. Rivers put me on the spot.

"So Destiny, I finally get to sit down and talk with you. You're the reason Austin can't focus on the court." he joked. Everyone laughed. Austin smiled and blushed so hard. It was the cutest thing ever.

"Seriously!" he continued. "Basketball used to be the center of his world but I can tell that's changed. Now I know it's because of you."

This was the worst possible thing Mr. Rivers could have said to me at a time when I'm trying to build the courage to tell Austin I'm pregnant.

I smiled so no one would sense anything wrong. But Austin knew. He knows me too well. I can't hide anything from him.

"Excuse me, I'm sorry but I have to get some air."

I went outside to get some fresh air and I tried to think of the exact way I would break the news to Austin. I played a number of different scenarios in my head.

"Maybe I should tell him during sex..." I thought to myself.

"YEAH! During sex is the best time!

I heard footsteps approaching and I looked up expecting it to be Callie or Austin but it was neither of them.

It was him.

"Hey baby"
