Helo belongs to me.

The room had grey painted walls with yellow-orange accents. There was a side table and chair on one side of the room, and on the opposite side there was a messily made bed and a computer desk. On the right of the bed stood a large window to look out upon the city.

This was where 17-year-old Heliosray Wheeldon of Synthcy called home.

Helo turned his socket wrench on the bolt for the hoverboard’s battery panel, his giant, bright yellow doorwings laying uncomfortably on his back. He had some grease on his face, and his pet dragon, Energon, napped on his lap. A knock sounded as he slaved away in his room/workshop, and he sighed.

“Yes?” He asked aloud. The door opened. It was his boss, Jarvistan Astonike. Energon lifted his head at the sudden noise and went to greet him, warbling. Jarvistan chuckled and rubbed Energon’s head.

“I need you to get that delivery of parts today. Our supplier in the capital said it was coming over here in a few joors.” He said to Helo, soon standing up from his position with Energon. Helo sighed, putting the hoverboard down.

“I can’t.” Jarvistan frowned, striding over to the transgender Cyberican. “I have a lot of scrap on my plate.” Helo motioned to the pile of scrap on his desk. “Literally. And this hoverboard needs to be finished today so that the kid who gave me it will quit bothering me.” Jarvistan placed a large hand on Helo’s shoulder, pulling him back.

“You have the rest of the day off. I’ll finish this so you can get that delivery.” Helo’s hazy-gray eyes widened. His eye color changed every so often because his eyes were hazel. It was one of his favorite things about himself. Other than his doorwings, of course.

“You’d do that?” Jarvistan nodded with a smile. Helo gasped with delight and hugged him. “Thank you, Mr. Astonike! I won’t let you down!” As quickly as he hugged, he let go. “Energon, let’s roll!” Energon pranced around at that, giving tiny roars of happiness. The baby dragon loved rides on the bike Helo owned, and Helo would need the storage on it for transporting the goods. Might as well bring his best friend with.

Helo perked his wings up and grabbed helmets for him and Energon, getting a jacket for himself. Then, Energon hopped onto the back of the large wheeled motorcycle and the two set off, Energon acting like a dog in a hover car with the window down. They soon made it to the rusty old trading center. Here were several small shops and such with an open canopy. Although, the occasional banner was stretched between the tops of the buildings. Helo stopped at a specific booth and parked, letting Energon run into a pile of parts, which was his special spot.

Helo took off his helmet and sighed, shoving on his black beanie. All he had to do was wait now.

A young looking deer-girl with light brown hair and small horn nubs was holding a box, approaching Helo. The center area of her eyes were red, but the rest were brown. She could be a Lerivian or a Oncewynnian, but Lerivians didn't travel to Synthcy, so a safe bet would be Oncewynnian. Helo cleared his throat.

Here we go. He thought as she neared closer, trying to not appear nervous. He hated new people. Helo never wanted a stranger to reveal him a transgender man. It would get him sent away back to Cyberica - or into prison for lying on his public record.

She looked at him. "Are you Jarvistan Astonike? If you aren't, where can I find him?" She had a certain air of anxiousness about her, her eyes flicking to the sides occasionally.

“I’m not, but I work for him. He sent me to get it.” He extended his hand. “I’m Heliosray Wheeldon. Call me Helo. And you are?”

She shook his hand, she was wearing white gloves. "I'm Nassa Meridian, but just call me Nassa. I assume by it, you mean the parts?"

Helo nodded. “Yeah. He is why I’m not doing any work right now.” He joked. Energon placed his head onto the counter, licking it. “Not now, En. I don’t have any food on me.” Helo tells him, turning back to Nassa. “Sorry, my pet dragon finds the weirdest times to annoy me.” He apologized. Helo hoped she wouldn’t mind, but a lot of people do.

"It's alright," She smiled. She looked at the dragon curiously. "What's his name?"

Helo’s eyes widened. He had never heard someone call Energon a him, and smiled as he pet his companion’s head. “Energon. For a precious substance on my birth planet.” He said as he pet him. “You can pet him if you want -  he’s really friendly.” As if on cue, Energon hopped onto the counter. He was the size of a young labrador. “En!” Helo scolded with a laugh.

Nassa laughed too. She held her hand out, as if asking the dragon if it was okay with him. Energon put his head into her hand, nuzzling it with a purr.

She grinned happily, her mouth open, revealing sharp teeth. That definitely was not normal, especially for a deer person. Helo cocked his head.

“Are you a hybrid?” Helo asked, out of curiosity as Energon made loud purring sounds of contentment. He suddenly saw how rude it was and tried to cover it up. “Y- you don’t have to answer that-” He stuttered, waving his hands.

Nassa closed her mouth and frowned. "Maybe. But it's not important. Besides," She said, "Hybrids aren't all that uncommon where I come from."

Helo nodded. “Got it.” He took the parts. “Well, Energon and I should be on our way.” He says, holding the box. “Energon, let’s roll.” He tells the dragon, who runs off. He looks back at Nassa. “It was nice to meet you.”

"Likewise," The girl turns around and starts mumbling quietly to herself. Helo raised an eyebrow and in the end shrugged, loading up the bike. Then he got on and sped off, getting back to Jarvistan. He had in fact finished the work for Helo, and was grateful the Helo got the needed parts.  Helo only nodded and went to his room, falling onto his bed. His chest felt even tighter, if that was possible. Energon knew too, somehow, and kept poking him. He groaned.

“Fine.” He took off his binder. His shirt was loose enough to hide his bust, but he knew he would have to take that off to sleep. He sighed. “I wish I didn’t have to deal with this.” Energon cocked his head. Helo smiled a bit. “You wouldn’t exactly get that cause you are a boy.”  He added, rubbing the creature’s head. Energon warbled in response. Helo took the shirt off and Energon covered his chest with his tail fins, making him laugh. “You goof. Thanks.”

It was that the two of them slept under the covers.
