I walked around the palace, my tail swishing behind me. It had been quite stressful ever since the unauthorized collections started. I, with Alexandria and Flint of course, had set detection spells up in certain, likely to be targeted, areas, however to no avail. For now, though, that's all that we could do. I made my way to the kitchen to make a cup of tea- I was expecting someone and made sure to have some left in case he wanted any. A black and white dragon flew down the courtyard in a blurr, followed closely by a black and purple one. A maid ran over, bowing at the sight.
"Your majesty, Energon and one of his sons have arrived." She said.
"Thank you madame," I said, smiling at her. Then, I walked over towards the two dragons, switching from sectorian into draconic.
"Hello, Energon."
Your majesty. Energon rumbled, bowing. The tiny one beside him did the same. I come bearing a message from Heliosray. All preparations for the children of the Saviors of the Six Sectors have been completed.
Daddy, who is this? Can he understand us? The dragon beside him warbled.
And please pardon my hatchling Yelp. He's a curious soul.
"Of course. Hello, Yelp. As for the preparations, that's good, have any escape tunnels been created?"
Yes. Energon nodded at Yelp, who ran over to me and dug into his satchel, pulling out a piece of parchment. We have 2 leading to Synthcy, four to Lerivia, 1 to Ijetix, 5 to Cogswatch, and 2 leading here, as well as 6 to Pacifi.
"Good. Thank you both. Would you like some tea?" I inquired.
Please. You have no idea how much stress taking care of 10 hatchlings is. Yes we gave two away but the rest are with me. Bumblebee is with Jarvistan and Pacific is with the Greenleafs. Energon roared, sounding like a tired parent.
I chuckled. "And I thought raising two children was hard."
I mean, Helo is caring for one hatchling and Elizabeth seems to behave. Meanwhile Victor and Madeline are a tad rambunctious. Victor bit my tail - don't care if an accident or not, that hurt - and so I've gotten more wary of him. The dragon warbled. And then Yelp and his siblings are a handful - so full of energy. I'm hoping to give more away, but that's becoming less of a possibility with these collections. I don't want my children to go through the same pain I did. Energon used his tail to pull Yelp close.
"That's fair enough. I'll be right back," I said, walking back inside to get Energon some tea. Once I did, I came back out. Yelp was chasing a butterfly and Energon was sitting at the table. Kaithenne had given him a spell to try out when I gave him the messenger job and he was currently using it. He was currently human in a dragon skin outfit. He had buzzed black hair, his signature blue eyes, pale skin, and he still retained his sharp canines.
"No matter how often I use this it's weird." He spoke in Sectorian, sounding like a young soldier out of the war.
"I suppose I'm lucky to naturally have a humanlike form," I said, also switching into Sectorian to match Energon. I handed him his tea.
"Thank you." He took a sip. "Everything has changed so much....I kinda liked things the way they were." Energon stared at his cup. "It's strange to think that now...now we could be going to war."
"Just like change, in the end, disagreements are inevitable," I took a sip of my own tea before continuing, "And sometimes, disagreements can cause wars. Certainly there are better ways, but people tend to have a natural inclination to want to come out on top. Although it is unpleasant, war does happen. I just wish another one hadn't started so soon..."
"I agree." Energon sighed. "And the children are going to be confused on why everything is so different for them than everyone else."
"Unfor-" I started before I was interrupted by a loud shout.
"HYDROXIS IF YOU DO NOT COME BACK HERE THIS INSTANT I SWEAR-" Yelp looked up, and tugged on Energon's sleeve. Energon gave him some of the potion and Yelp gained similar looks only with purple eyes and tousled black hair. Yelp then ran off to play. Energon smiled a bit.
"Who is the harpy?" He asked.
"Alexandria found her in the middle of a collection. We haven't been able to locate her parents, so for the time being, Xandria has opted to take care of her. Although I question whether we will ever find her parents..." The last part I stated in a low, solemn tone.
"A lot of that is unknown. A pack of werewolf pups got orphaned yesterday." Energon frowned. "And Dyn lost his eye and Kisame lost his arms as well. During a collection. Bomb."
"Yes, very unfortunate," I stated.
"Aeriz- apologies, Marion, even sent out an announcement that Kisame would be staying the ocean until further notice due to it. The kid can barely move." Energon finished his cup as Yelp ran back over.
"Uncle Helo sent a text. He said we need to come back soon for patrol." He said, his small voice sounding quiet and shy, nothing like the loudness of his namesake. Energon nodded.
"Thank you, Yelp." He turned back. "Thank you for your time your majesty."
"And thank you as well, Energon."
