Nassa owned by GoodTheSecond
The brown haired girl's red-brown eyes scanned the world in front of her. This wouldn't be the first time leaving her sector, but it never failed to shake her nerves. The grand forest of Lerivia always made her feel at peace, despite the many dangers that lurked inside.
Maybe it had to do with the fact that she herself could be considered one of the dangers. Regardless, Nassa called the forest home. A place she left quite often, but not without taking one last look.
She turned back to face the dark and light browns, the green and red leaves, the thriving bushes and bright green grasses. Nassa would return, she always did, but she savored every last second as if it were her last. The scent of nature lingered as she walked through the dirt path leading to the capital city of Six Sectors.
Nassa was going to look for possible work. Lerivians didn't need money, but Nassa enjoyed the occasional commodity provided by the other sectors. She had always disliked the pollution, as any Lerivian would, but she didn't hate the other sectors for it. They didn't know any better, it was their way of life.
Nassa took one last glance at the forest before breaking out into a run. The sooner she got to the city, the sooner she could get to work, the sooner she could get back home.
Nassa had her hair in a milkmaid braid, her preferred hairstyle. It stayed out of her eyes, which was important. She had a worn down light blue shirt, with a tear on the bottom, as well as a pair of jeans. Her brown sneakers were quite dirty and messy.
Nassa ran through the dirt path, quick and agile thanks to her forest home and deer ancestry. She had small horn bumps on her head, but no proper horns. Nassa saw tall buildings in the distance, and the path she was running on soon became a proper cement path.
She stopped for a moment, putting her hands on her knees and breathing heavily. "You see that Alkippe? We're almost back at the city. I know you like it."
Response less, Nassa stood back up and started up walking again. She smiled to herself. Or, was it perhaps, not to herself she smiled? Regardless, Nassa was happy.
She approached the large city slowly, taking in the beautiful sight. Treehouses and workshops, sea style houses and skyscrapers, beautiful gardens and floating buildings, a unique blend of every Sector!
However, Nassa was aware that in such a famous city, there was bound to be danger. She had experienced herself the superiority that citizens from one sector often felt over the other sectors. For the most part, everyone thought their sector was the best, and prejudice was everywhere.
Especially when it came to Lerivia. The Woodland Sector contrasted from most other sectors, with their lack of technology and love of nature. Lerivia had a famous hatred for certain other sectors. And when I say 'certain', I mean all sectors except for Oncewynn.
And it wasn't only Lerivians against everyone else, other sectors often saw Lerivians as primitive and bad mannered, which wasn't the case.
Nassa sighed. She loved Lerivia, but it's hard sometimes being a Lerivian. She looked around once more. There were people everywhere. Cervitaurs, humans, cyborgs, fairies, almost any species imaginable. Nassa fit right in among the crowd- it was impossible not to.
She walked towards a place she knew well - the bulletin board. It was a large board where people who needed something done but we're either too lazy or couldn't do it wrote it down on a piece of paper and put it up.
Nassa looked over at the board, seeing what jobs needed done. Gardening? No. Tech repairs? Absolutely not. Transporting parts? Yes! That was perfect. Nassa took the piece of paper and followed the directions.
The directions led her to a nice parts shop near the center of the capital, which was a nice half hour walk. She opened the door and looked inside.
The building didn't have any specific Sector look to it, it seemed very neutral. The walls were made of stone and the floor was made of wood. Shelves lined the walls, filled with various purchasable parts.
Nassa walked towards the counter, where a man stood. "How can I help you miss?"
"Hello sir, I'm here to inquire about this job that was on the bulletin board," She said, holding up the paper.
"I see miss. Well, I have a box of parts that I need delivered to Synthcy ASAP," The man explained. "Are you up for that? You look a bit small to be traveling that far."
"With all due respect, sir, I did travel from Lerivia to here within two days. I had travelled to the border of Lerivia yesterday, and just this morning I ran here. I think I can manage," Nassa said.
"Lerivia? What's a Lerivian doing round here?" He asked, genuinely curious.
"Looking for work, of course. Now, can I take the job or not?" Nassa replies. It was none of his business what she was doing in the capital! Her small deer-like tail swished with annoyance, and her pupils seemed to shrink just slightly, but it was barely noticeable.
"Of course, I'll just need your full name, in case something goes wrong," The man says.
'In case I try to steal it,' Nassa thought annoyedly, 'Why can't they just say that?'
"Nassa Alkippe Meridian," Nassa says.
"Alright Nassa, follow me," The man leads the aforementioned girl to the back room, which was dimly lit and full to the brim with boxes. "See that box of parts? It's got the address and name of the recipient on it. I'll pay you half now, and pay you the rest when you come back with proof that ya delivered it."
"Alright sir," She picks up the box, "I won't disappoint you."
Nassa walked outside the parts shop, and began the long journey to Synthcy, Sector of Tech.
