Still falling for you

chapter 6

AMELIA POV
I have been in the hospital for 7 days now,the police had found Link and put him directly in jail and we were waiting for a trial date.
It was Owen's idea to get me into therapy because I had horrible nightmares every night. He has helped me a lot, he visits me several times a day and sleeps with me every night and holds me very tightly when I have nightmares. Maybe it sounds weird and it is but it makes me feel better.
I was interrupted by a knock at the door, it was my therapist.
-"Hi Amelia I'm Ashley" she said with a smile and I smiled back
-"You can sit down if you want" I said pointing to the chair next to me.
We stood there without talking for about five minutes before she decided to speak and told me "if you don't talk to me I can't help you" "you have to talk to me, tell me your story".
"If you insist, but it's not pretty" I said hesitantly.
"Go ahead, I'm here for that" she said
I took a deep breath and began
"my father died when I was 5 years old, he was killed in front of me, two men came into his store, they put a gun to his head and took the money from the register and then they wanted his watch. My mother gave this watch to my father to show how much she loves him and how powerful their love was . So the two men shot my dad for his watch, while my brother Derek and I were in the back store and he protected me and kept me from screaming.  We heard the two men leave so Derek walked over to my dad but it was too late, after that I had to grow up without my dad and my mom started to push me away because I looked like her and she let Derek elect me and she was horrible to me and I was always the black sheep of the family. At 16 I started doing drugs and went to rehab and got sober and went to college and then medical school and became a neurosurgeon. But my best friend committed suicide and I fell off the wagon, I met a man named Rayan and we enjoyed doing drugs together and we fell in love. It lasted for about 3 months before we decided to get sober but we wanted to get high one last time so we did and the next day when I woke up and he was dead next to me, after he died I decided to go back to rehab and found out I was pregnant but on the first ultrasound I found out my baby has no brain. Ironic huh I'm a neurosurgeon and my baby didn't have a brain" i said take a pause and continue "So it was too late to terminate the pregnancy so I gave birth at full term I was able to hold my baby for 43 minutes and then I let him go and he donated all his organs To save others. After that I needed a change and so I moved to Seattle and one year later my brother died  I wanted to get back on drugs to forget that he was dead but Owen saved my life after that I had some great years with him and we got divorced and got back together and started a family but it didn't go as planned and without going into details I ended up with Link and a baby.
I was fine and happy but after that he asked me to marry him and I ran away because I didn't know what to say. So I went back to Los Angeles to find my friends and they made me realize that I wasn't really in love with Link and that we didn't want the same things and belong to each other  so I decided to break up with him .I came back and told him what I thought and he beat me up" I finished my speech in tears.
She looked at me and said "I'm really sorry for you"
"It must have been hard for you to tell me this, but it will be helpful for your therapy."
"It's okay, don't worry about me" I said.
"I'm worried about you, that's why I'm here! "She said, "Do you mind if I ask you some questions? "
"No, go ahead," I said
"How do you feel after Link, the man you loved, beat you?"she start
- "It hurt, but I've been through worse, and it's weird, but it was a relief to see his true face now instead of 10 years from now," I said.
- "Are you afraid of him? "she asked
-"no" I said "but I'm afraid of the effect it had on me"
"What do you mean?"she asked
"Ever since he assaulted me I can't stop thinking about drugs, I want drugs so bad,I've tried to ignore it but it's to hard " I said crying "I hate that I'm always craving drugs"
"You're going to forget these cravings, don't worry" she said, putting her hand on my shoulder.
"I have to, I'm a mom now and I'm not going to let this son of a bitch ruin my life" I said
"I think that's enough for today, but I do have one last question," she said, and I shook my head and told her I agreed.
"What are you going to do next? Are you going to get married again and have more children? Maybe with Owen? "she said.
When she said those last words I almost choked myself with the water I was drinking.
"No, he's with Teddy," I said.
"You didn't answer my question, if he wasn't with Teddy would it change things? "she asked
"I don't know" I said
"You can talk to me, I'm bound by medical secrecy and I won't tell anyone, so now answer this question. Do you still love Owen? "
"Yes, but unfortunately he doesn't."I said
"You are honest that's good.But I'm talking to you as a woman, not as a shrink, and I haven't seen many men stay with a woman day and night to protect her if they weren't in love with her." She said, getting up from the chair. I smiled at her, she walked to the door, turned around and said
"You should hear the rumors about Hunt and Altman" and then she left.
What did she mean by rumors? I was interrupted again by a knock at the door it was Owen with Leo and Liam. Since I am here Owen came once a day with the boys it feels so nice and it makes me happy

OWEN POV
"Hi!" I said as I walked into the room with Leo and Liam in my arms
"Hi" Amelia replied with a smile but I could tell something was wrong.
I put Leo on the floor and he ran to the bed and Amelia picked him up and put a kiss on his cheek and I went over to her and gave Liam to her and at the same time I whispered to her "what's wrong" she looked at me and said "I need to talk to you later but don't worry" she said smiling at me
We stayed there for about an hour before Maggie came to pick them up. She had been taking care of them since Amelia was in the hospital. Leo said goodbye to Amelia and gave her a kiss on the cheek before doing the same with me but strangely enough he put his mouth close to my ear and whispered "can I talk to you ! just you and me" Leo was just 3 years old but very smart so he took my hand and led me into the bathroom and I bent down to his level and asked him "what's wrong baby" he looked at me and said "can I call her Mommy" in reference to Amelia
"What" I said to be sure of what he had said
"I know you're getting married to Teddy , And I know she wants me to call her mommy but I don't want to.She's not my mommy , my mommy is Amelia but I don't know if she wants me to be her son! "he says to me crying
I took him in my arms and said "stop crying buddy "  I said while giving him a kiss on the forehead "But it's not me you have to ask that question to " I told him with a smile to reassure him "why don't you go and ask her".
He shook his head yes so I opened the door and he ran into Amelia's arms crying. Amelia looked at me confused and I just said "we'll leave you two alone,call me when you're done" I said as I left the room followed by Maggie who had Liam in her arms.
