Snape stared back at Minerva, making no attempt to lift his wand. A bright red handprint adorned his right cheek, added to that some scratches from Minerva's sharp nails.

She was a cat through and through.

"How dare ye think after everythin' that has happened, ye can simply return and make everythin' right?", hissed Minerva angrily. She jabbed her wand deeper into Snape's throat, fuming with rage.
"Albus took ye in! He gave ye a job, he made Hogwarts yer home! He was yer friend! AND YE TOOK HIM FROM US!"

"Minerva-", started Kingsley.

"What?", she snapped and whipped her hand around. More blood trickled into her right eye and she wiped it away furiously with her free hand.

"I don't think you are in a state-"

"I am perfectly fine!", Minerva fumed and narrowed her eyes. "It's whether he will be fine in a few more minutes that you should worry about!"

She whirled around to face Snape again.
"Answer me, Snape. How come ye were on our side all along, but killed our headmaster?"

One wrong word and she would rip him to shreds. Minerva knew that Snape was aware of that. Part of her hoped he'd give her a reason to blast a fire ball through his head.

"It was Albus' plan", Snape began slowly, but got interrupted by an outraged cry from Molly.

"He would never have planned to leave us alone while You-Know-Who is returning!", Molly exclaimed indignantly.
She had her wand pointed at Severus, its tip shaking from anger.

"It was Albus' plan", repeated Snape in a sharper tone, ignoring Minerva's wand at his throat, "that I should kill him to gain the Dark Lord's loyalty."

"Bollocks!", scoffed Moody and banged his stick on the ground. "Do you know how often I have heard Death Eaters make excuses after the first war, just so they could escape Azkaban?"

Snape narrowed his eyes slightly.
"And you would be the expert on Death Eaters, wouldn't you?", he sneered.

Everyone else started raising their voice and soon the entire clearing was filled with the loud suggestions on what to do with Snape.

"He's just another traitor!", an Auror exclaimed and tossed her hair back.

"He did cast a patronus, though."

"Vat about-"

"I saw him cast a patronus!", exclaimed Charity Burbage in utter surprise. "I thought that was impossible for Death Eaters!"

"Ve did not consider-", Madam Maxime started again.

"It could have been fake! Perhaps the dementors were involved in a scheme to pretend that his patronus was real", said Molly hotly.

"A patronus cannot be faked. That should be reason enough for you to believe me, shouldn't it?", interrupted Snape mockingly, and added a sentence into Minerva's direction. "After all, I just gave up my position as a spy to save your bloody life."

"Shut up!", several barked at once.

Minerva narrowed her eyes to slits.
"Give me a reason why I shouldn't assume this is just a part of Ye-Know-Who's plan? To infiltrate our ranks?"
