Mioha flew down the dark corridor as fast as she could. She could see pretty well in the dark and had no trouble following the corridor in a long spiral deeper and deeper below the castle. When she saw the colorful lights, she felt her heart ease. The beautiful music sounded in her ears and the awful pain of what she had done faded slightly.
She knew that she could never make up for what she had done as a Maliluna. But she would try.
When Mioha entered the enormous hall, she saw the large sphere in the center, its size about half of the Great Hall. It was pulsating with magic, beckoning her to come closer.
She flew over five rune circles, whose symbols remained dark since she had broken through those barriers already. But the sixth circle lit up when she neared, thrumming with energy.
Mioha slowed down and lightly landed on her feet, folding her wings. She closed her eyes for a short moment and drew a deep breath. Her concentration had to be one hundred percent focused on this task. Everyone was counting on her.
When Mioha opened her eyes again, they were a blazing silver. She fluently changed into her Silverwing form, since that would ease pain she would be feeling.
Then she took the first step.Immediately, the Birth Place's magic surrounded her, pressing down on her from all sides until it felt like she was choking. But Mioha kept her magic surrounding her at all times and the pressure eased slightly. The Birth Place did not recognize her human form, but it could feel her magic.
The music grew stronger with each step, humming inside her and around her. This was the last barrier and the most strongest of all six.
But despite that, Mioha felt her heart lighten as she neared the large globe. With each step, she got closer to becoming what she truly was. She raised her head slightly and her eyes remained fixed on the colors before her the entire time.Almost there-
Just a few more steps-
Mioha took a deep breath, lifted her left hoof and placed it in front of her. The runes around it turned a bright silver and she pulled her next hoof forward.
Now she was so close, the vibrating energy ahead of her was just inches away from her muzzle.
Mioha trembled with excitement and took one more step.
Her right leg entered the globe and instantly, she felt a warm feeling fill her from inside out. The pressure of the last barrier disappeared and Mioha stumbled forward. Colors filled her entire view, swirling around her.
She felt herself being lifted into the air, losing the ground beneath her hooves. Her wings beat slowly as she rose higher and higher, the humming growing louder and louder. Mioha felt the flow of her magic increase to a stream, pulsating powerfully through her.
