Mioha's heartbeat echoed in her ears. She slowly set one foot in front of the other, feeling through the soles of her shoes that the ground was made of rough and uneven cobblestones. Extending her left hand and brushing it against the wall, she could feel the mortar crumbling away beneath her fingertips.

The Slytherin couldn't tell how long she was walking, only that the tunnel was leading her down in a wide left curve. It was barely wide enough for her to extend her arms to the side, so she couldn't have flown even if she had wanted to.

The darkness was a little unsettling, but Mioha wasn't frightened. Her eyes were sharp enough to pierce the black before her, yet all that was there to see was an endless tunnel, going on and on. And despite the closeness of the walls, she did not feel claustrophobic in the slightest. Hogwarts' magic was surrounding her, humming beneath her feet and making her feel safe.

She thought about casting a light, yet decided against it. Somehow, the longer she walked, the more she felt like she was entering a sacred place which should not be disturbed. Not by sounds, nor by foreign lights.

Where was she?

She surely had to be deep beneath the castle by now. Probably even below the Labyrinth. Mioha's breathing got shallow as she thought of the heaps of earth above her head. Massive weight, which could crush her easily.

But the soothing humming of Hogwarts' magic drove her anxiety away and her breathing eased again.

She kept her eyes focused ahead. Since the tunnel was curving to the left, leading her downward in a wide spiral, her eyes were glued to the brick wall in front of her.
The drab sight got quite tedious after a while and Mioha's legs were aching from walking so long, but she pushed on.
She had gotten this far, she couldn't stop now.

When it happened the first time, Mioha thought she had just imagined it. That the blue light flickering on the wall ahead of her was just a result of her eyes being dry and tired.

Mioha blinked confused and shook her head. She needed to keep her head clear, otherwise-

A thin yellow beam of light was slithering on the wall in front of her, moving around the bricks in random movements. Then it shot to the left along the wall and out of sight.
Mioha's pulse quickened and she accelerated her pace.

The incident repeated. Only this time, it was a scarlet red bolt of light sizzling past her ear and disappearing behind her.

A green light came from the front and shot between her legs, before making a U-turn and flying down the tunnel in front of her.
